Because the US are really, really s***, and we've always been like this. Always. We get past these teams comfortably then lose to Portugal/Brazil.

Hyperbole much.

When have you not been shit? And being less shit now than you were 10/20 years ago doesn't count.  :fishing:

Something like this apparently:

Howard

Cherundolo, DeMerit, Onyewu, Bocanegra

Donovan, Clark, Bradley, Dempsey

Findley, Altidore

Americans feel free to correct me.

Can't remember who posted it first, but that is such a good site.

I posted it a couple of days ago :) It is a cracking site.

Hadn't seen the US had been put up yet like, cheers.

Just spent an hour there. Great site. Wish they could be bothered to write a more coherent review of South Korea, but oh well.

I'm not sure why people are so down about England's chances.

Is it because they don't play attractive football?

They're basically set up like a good Italian side, and have one of the great managers of his time leading them. They'll be hard beaten, quite frankly.

In 2002, we were a better team and should have been in the semis but for bizarre reffing interveneing for Germany. The US are not a great team, but they aren't a poor one either. SEMTEX's whole post was exagerration for both the US and England.

The highly-rated Cha Du-Ri is a genuine attacking threat through sheer pace

Knowing our luck yeah, Germany will finish 2nd, and the vital moment will come 6 minutes from time as Klose falls over in the 6 yard box, 2 yards offside, and fumbles it in.

It's more the lack of ability to play possession football, we don't have to play attacking football, but we will struggle to keep the ball against the likes of Argentina, Brazil, Spain or Holland.

You'll struggle to get the ball against those teams, let alone keep it.  ;)

I totally agree, someone like Spain could deliver a master-class against us, that game in the Bernabeu a few years back being a prime example.

pretty much although set pieces are a worry defensively. If we win tomorrow I'll be disappointed if we don't reach the last 4 with our easyish draw.
