AyeDubbleYoo
Alan Smith will not accept a wage cut as part of a deal to take him back to Leeds United next season. The Newcastle United midfielder flies home from a holiday in America soon, but he says he wants to honour the final year of his contract on Tyneside. Newcastle have told Smith that he is free to leave St James’ Park, 12 months before the end of a deal which expires in June 2012, and Leeds are one of several clubs competing for his signature this summer. Smith’s existing contract is believed to be worth in the region of £55,000 a week, however, and the 30-year-old is not prepared to forego the financial commitment made to him by Newcastle. However - Newcastle say they would consider paying a sizeable portion of Smith’s wages to facilitate a transfer, a move which would assist Leeds’ attempts to close a deal. But Smith says he wants to remain at Newcastle for the final year of his deal and fight for a first-team place under manager Alan Pardew. What a cock by the way. Chrisjraby
I didn't think it'd be possible to hate anyone's contribution to this club more than Michael Owen's, but this guy comes fucking close!
Jack Flash
The source may be dubious but do any of us really doubt the content? He'll cling onto that contract till his hands come off (or the paper rips).

TRon
Greedy cunt, hes already robbed us for £15-20m. Smith was named as on of the top lads by Barton when discussing who was important in the dressing room. He might well be good mates with Joey but what's clear is a lot of these good lads put their wages first and the club second. He's entitled to it, don't get me wrong, just as I'm entitled to call him a greedy waste of space. See out your final year then fuck off you cunt. ToonImms
I'd prefer us to have players with talent on the pitch than be good in the dressing room. E.g. Cabaye > Nolan

As much as i hate Owen and thinks he's a twat, he actually played good for us sometimes. Sadly can't say the same about Alan fucking Smith.

TRon
He'd rather spend another season playing reserve team football than drop his wages and get a move? Seems quite cuntish to me.

midds
He's putting money above actually playing, which is entirely his prerogative. It's my prerogative to call him a greedy, completely useless cunt for doing so. Get out of the club.
Ronaldo
Yeah, exactly. Complete and utter c***.
