JH
There's no way I'm willing to tempt fate by predicting a disastrous season for them, it would be far too good after last year. Hope it happens, but they're the flukiest fuckers going so I expect they'll come out smelling of roses. I'm going to say they're going to walk it, probably win the league. If you expect that, it makes a crash and burn more enjoyable when it happens
SEMTEX
itvfootball: #LFC fan places £44k on Liverpool to win the league this season: http://t.co/ShaIz14U pff. Isn't £44k on them to win the league, it's £22k e/w. Fucking pussy.

Sifu
Failure in this coming season is exactly what the Scousers need (would be perfect/hilarious too). Their fans need a reality check and fast. Relegation is the way (not that it's going to happen any time soon like).

loki679
So what exactly happened with this agreement not to sign players from Swansea? Did they just go 'Nah, fuck it, we were only kidding'?
Guest Stephen927
Am I making this up or did the agreement say that Liverpool could bid for a Swansea player if another club had done so too? Could have received another bid for Allen. Nah, Rodgers is just being a cunt.
wormy
Didn't the Swans fan that's popped on here lately state that it was a written agreement, too? Why don't Swansea act on that?
mrmojorisin75
"Allen has been a target for Rodgers since he left Swansea for Anfield in June, despite Liverpool signing an agreement not to raid their manager's former club for players for 12 months. Liverpool have exploited a technicality in Allen's Swansea contract that allows him to join one of five specified clubs – Liverpool among them – for £15m and, having met the price, the Wales international is free to hold talks over a move to Merseyside." http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/08/liverpool-joe-allen-swansea-city how to keeping winning friends and influencing people liverpool...technicalities always go down well i find

Cajun
Didn't the Swans fan that's popped on here lately state that it was a written agreement, too? Why don't Swansea act on that? Because £15m for Allen is too much to turn down no matter who is bidding?

Claim unsettling the player etc before settling for the £15m and compensation.
Guest optimistic nit
probably just waiting for the deal to go through before complaining to the FA, 15 million is hillarious, 15 million plus compensation would kill me. When are liverpool going to learn that spending champions league sums of money on players with one seasons experience in the premier league is not the best way to start challenging for a champions league place. leffe186
I tell you what though, they're looking annoyingly competent tonight. I think Rodgers is going to be a good choice in the long term. I realise they're playing a dodgy team, but still.

leffe186
they prolly think they will win the league now... Naah, I mean, it's not as if they're going to be putting thousands of pounds on it. True enough, hopefully they will get over-excited. Just seen their first few fixtures, and they're terrifying.
