Cronky
I'm a bit surprised at the comments on Fellaini. He gets very involved in all areas of the pitch, and particularly in aerial battles, so he's bound to give away a number of free kicks. But the dirtiest player in the league? I don't think it's easy for the truly dirty (ie malicious) player to function now, with refs being stricter and cameras all over the place picking up incidents after the game. But two players spring to mind who consistently seem to go in deliberately late - Cattermole (numero uno) and - yes - Tiote. PS - I havent' made a detailed study of every player in the Premiership, so no doubt people can come up with other names. But I do think there's an aspect of Tiote's game that he needs to cut out. Guest firetotheworks
I would have guessed it was Fellaini, I thought it was obvious. He's a cracking player, but he's a really nasty, niggly bastard.
gbandit
I would have guessed it was Fellaini, I thought it was obvious. He's a cracking player, but he's a really nasty, niggly b******. He is a niggly bastard but one who is unlikely to ever cause serious harm to anyone, same as Tiote really. Fellaini is all about flailing arms which are horrible to deal with and he deserves punishment for it but he's never going to keep players out for a long time. Equally, I can't remember Tiote ever seriously injuring anyone, am I being a biased twat here? Most of his cards are for the stupid shit, not 'bad' challenges, mainly just hauling people down one too many times in nothing positions and such like. Yeah, he needs to change his game but I don't think he's as dirty as some make out

You think Tiote is dirtier than Fellaini? Fellaini is constantly throwing elbows about, having little niggles and kicks at players and generally acting a cunt. He does it all the time - should have been sent off against Wigan the other week. Very good player but a nasty twat, far worse than Tiote who's fouls are always a byproduct of his rash/all action style of play rather than being deliberately a spiky cunt. Lush Vlad
Agree with Sewelly. Do people not watch Felliani or something? I remember in his first season there were about 4 or 5 instances where he elbowed someone or swung an elbow. Kicked out at someone in frustration in the WBA game a few weeks back and all. Didn't see the Wigan incident, but not surprised to hear about it.
durhamunigeordie
Remember Fellaini catching Williamson with a very stray elbow in the Ben Arfa game at Goodison. Cracking player, but one of the dirtiest around.
The College Dropout
Scholes regularly puts in late sliding challenges that could seriously hurt the opposition. Cattermole is the one who really looks to "do" players. For a supposed hard man, Tiote's had 2 red cards in 3 seasons playing for Newcastle United. Guest Rey Mysterio
Mostly shocking though. So far below top form. Doesn't help either of them when Cheik & Bigi play together though they feel the need to venture out of their comfort zones.

Guest BooBoo
At the risk of opening a can of worms, I think he's regressed as a player. I'm not advocating selling him, because he does undoubtably bring strength to the midfielder, but if we did lose him for a decent fee I wouldn't be hugely bothered. Can't agree whatsoever and I think his limitations will stop a 'top' club coming in for him and paying over the odds. However, I would like to see him get back to basics. He's trying long, hollywood balls, being even more nonchalent in dangerous areas than before and his discipline hasn't got any better. Seems like Pardew has given him more of a free reign to get about the pitch, either that or Cheik has decided he wants to. I preferred him when he just played deeper and looked for short, quick passes.
Unbelievable
Agreed. He's a much better player when he keeps to the basics of nicking the ball and laying it off to more technically gifted players. He's still fantastic at winning the ball and turning his way out of trouble, but he has become more sloppy in his passing as he's trying to be more adventurous. The coaching staff badly need to have a word with him about this aspect of his game.

Lush Vlad
Never remember him saying that? How mental! But I do remember after beating West Ham 5-0 the season before last he said something like "I want to see more of Cheik going forward" Err why, he's a very limited defensive midfield player. Keep it that way. Just remembered his two up and under, rugby style kicks last night. That cross was in the air for a good 5 seconds
