Andy
Probably wasn't a red, but Pardew has received exactly what he deserved for a frankly ridiculous piece of management.
Broadsword
Yep, red card, should know better. Has a lot of learning to do.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
There was no need for Tiote to even be brought on.
captainhaircut
He was in control of the tackle when he reached player and ball. I don't see how that was dangerous play. Exactly. Who cares if a players goes airborne at some point. Its when the contact is made that counts. Its like saying if someone goes in for a header with a swinging elbow but his arm is by his side by the time he comes to head it, that is a red card. I'll be taking a huge break from football if it isn't rescinded. Football just isn't the game I want to watch if that is a red card.
JH
He was in control of the tackle when he reached player and ball. I don't see how that was dangerous play. Because he was completely off the ground and his studs were showing. Regardless of whether he was in control of the tackle or if he won the ball, or whatever, referees will send you off for it. Doesn't make it right, but it happens.
NoU
Now that was a good tackle.
Pilko
That was never a red card. So, the FA probably won't rescind it. Marriner shafts us for the fourth time in as many months, but Pardew is to blame for even bringing him on.
Fatwax
He left the ground for the tackle and because of that it can be considered reckless. It wasn't two footed going into the tackle but his studs were showing. He's out of the match next Sunday.
junkhead
Pardew fucked up big time.. Ridiculous decision making.
Dave
No way on earth will it be overturned. Dangerous and jumped in. The ref saw it close up and even consulted with the linesman. Sometimes it doesn't matter if you win the ball.

It wasnt therefore he didnt deserve it Wasnt even a foul

For what it's worth I don't agree that it should be a red card as it was a good tackle, but how he went for the tackle has been highlighted by referees to give red cards for because of it's potential danger or recklessness. Guest Heneage
I've seen Parker make numerous tackles like that. He didn't catch the player he got the ball and went in with one leg. They won't overturn it but it's criminal when you consider De Jong's was deemed fair.
