Ryan_Taylor
Would it not make more sense to play Carrick in his actual position and let a proper centre back gain some international experience? Of course it would. Even if the theory of a ball-player at the back vs San Marino would help us play it out from the back, it's completely unnecessary given the level of the opponent, and will do nothing for our future defensive cohesiveness. Taylor is more than capable of bringing the ball out from the back, especialy against the likes of San Marino
Ronaldo
He's played there a couple of times for Man Utd. Aye and been f*cking awful every time, not to mention he's probably the best midfielder England has anyway. He isn't, like.

Mole_Toonfan
Lampard and Wilshere are better, imo. Offensively? sure but i meant as far as playmaking goes Carrick is our best. Lampard and Wilshere have more offensive ability for sure.
Oakie Doke
absolute disgrace that Carrick wasn't playing for us in his prime. Inexcusable tbh. I'm Oakie Doke. Thanks for reading.

Froggy
Carrick is class like but he's so bad in centre back. He's played there about 10 times for us and been terrible about 9 of those times. For what it's worth I think he's the best midfielder England have bar Wilshere. Carrick is probably in better form, currently.
oldtype
Or Mile Jedinak and James Holland..... Championship and Austrian Bundesliga FFS. That Lee Dong-Gook from Boro could still be starting up front for you.
Ronaldo
I do like Carrick, for the record. Always thought he was class and should be starting ahead of Barry.

That Lee Dong-Gook from Boro could still be starting up front for you. It's ok we have a 33 year old Tim Cahill, a 34 year old Archie Thompson and a 30 year old Alex Brosque. Sad state of affairs. Positives are Tommy Oar is a top attacking mid/winger in the Dutch league, Rogic iS getting some games at Celtic and Robbie Kruse is Dusseldorfs best player in the Bundesliga. other than those 3 we are fucking dire. Archie is fucking shit - damning indictement that he got any caps, let alone as many as he did. Dire is an understatement and in 2014 we'll be humiliated (if we even make it). But Steve Taylor: Like a boss
