tgarve
That Shola article in The Jorn'l this morning, man f***s sake, he's going to continue to get game time, isn't he? Absolutely desperate. For a start Pardew just says this to keep the morale up with the lesser players, as we will need to use them at some point and until we sign a new striker in the summer shola is the backup to cisse in europe at least. Secondly he didnt play too bad last night at all, he won us the game against qpr with a good goal. He is not as bad as people make out and does a job at times, especially in europe where the game is slower. Obviously need another striker in the summer but until then shola will play minutes like it or not! He is also a great penalty taker.
AyeDubbleYoo
Sometimes he's not as bad as people say, other times he's just as bad as everyone fears. We know what the situation is with Shola, as far as I'm concerned anything Pardew says publicly is irrelevant. He will sometimes do a good job for us, like he did last night. Who knows how many we would have scored with Cisse central and a better midfielder on the pitch though.

Yeah replace shola with ben arfa, get tiote and debuchy on the pitch then thats a sexually good side we have
sugoinufc
Hardly noticed him yesterday. A well taken penalty tbf. I really do not think he had a good game...average. I like his personality and hope he can find form so he can be used as a sub end of matches. But he does not function especially good as a targetman and he offers notning on the counter! Pilko
A lot of the fans won't appreciate his performance last night. His manager will.

toontenacity
Really worried Pardew might start him on Sunday, judging by the quotes in the Echo this morning. It's a disgrace that Cisse is moved out of position to make space for bloody Shola
Cajun
I haven't seen the quotes but if it's just Pardew bigging him up I wouldn't be too concerned, he always does that with players like Shola and I can't see Gouffran losing his place. SteveMc
Hasn't he recently said shola can't play 2 games in a week?
durhamunigeordie
Won't happen. There's just no way Shola can start another game less than 2 1/2 days after his last.
Pilko
Nah, he'll be back on the bench on Sunday. His European goalscoring record is fucking class (admittedly a bit of a 'Crouch for England' i.e. against minnow teams but hey ho), so it makes sense to start him in some of the European away fixtures especially. ATB
It was a fucking penalty kick that he wasn´t even close to fix. It sounds like he was Messi or something in the last game
Dave
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2286139/Shola-Ameobi-Sammy-Ameobi-say-Newcastle-want-local-star.html If we can do it, others from the city can. We have a big French contingent at the club but ultimately the stars of this team have to come from this area. It is Newcastle United. It is owned by the city, the people and they want to see local grown players in the team. It is important the club understands that. I am not saying we are not going to sign foreigners again, but most Geordies would want to see local players in the team.
