The College Dropout
We're walking a Shola wonderland. We are benefiting so much from someone who is able to hold the ball up and link with others up front.
Big Geordie
Another great shift from him today - worth of his place, at the moment. Centre-backs will be terrified of him at the moment (power and strength)
jdckelly
impressive performance and laid off some lovely passes for others to get onto, ok most of the time it didn't work out but thats not Shola's fault
AyeDubbleYoo
Still think he looks out of place and makes a lot of mistakes, but his presence seems to be working at the moment.

Very rare trait that though and why we haven't had anyone like that since Shearer.
The College Dropout
I don't see what others see in him and still find it unbelievable that he's getting 90 plus minutes in the top flight. Because you know nothing about football perhaps? If you can't see his value after watching Cisse's limp wristed efforts uptop by himself for so long then you're watching the wrong sport. Anymore than that is a brilliant striker.

AyeDubbleYoo
I know what Mick means, Shola is playing his role pretty well but he still looks out of his depth IMO. Not that it matters as long as the system is functioning.
NUFC
Thought he was pretty average today, was really poor in the air (hardly won a header all afternoon against their CB) and strolled around the pitch unlike last week where he bust a gut
quayside
I know what Mick means, Shola is playing his role pretty well but he still looks out of his depth IMO. Not that it matters as long as the system is functioning. The vast majority of his career he has been either shyte or ridiculously inconsistent. The occasional flash of form (often against the mackems) has just made the crap he mostly serves up seem even more annoying. He had a decent and consistent few months under Roeder (scored some goals too) but he nacked his hip so that was game over for a while. Recently I think he has looked like an international striker (no goals for us yet) - and I disagree that he looks out of his depth. Guess he must want to go to Brazil. Beren
Are people so entrenched in their views they can't admit he's doing well - as though doing so would invalidate any past justified criticisms?
Mick
Are people so entrenched in their views they can't admit he's doing well - as though doing so would invalidate any past justified criticisms? Maybe some people expect more than a few lay-offs from a forward.

Guest icemanblue
Continuing to serve a very important purpose. Still not the answer. Play on, playa.
Varadi
I like that he's getting to play a part in what will likely be his last season here - just need a penalty in the home derby to seal the legend.

Beren
If it his last season, we need to have a Wrestlemania-esque "World Cup 2014" sign for him to look up at on the final day of the season at full-time.
Segun Oluwaniyi
Are people so entrenched in their views they can't admit he's doing well - as though doing so would invalidate any past justified criticisms? He's doing very well relative to his past performances in the side and is fulfilling an important role in the system, but he hasn't played exceptionally well or anything. Even when he is on good form like this, Shola still has some glaring limitations and provides very little in the way of goal threat. His performances in the last months or so for club...and country have surprised me, though.
SiLvOR
Prefer it if he just drop kicked Poyet's chimp face tbh

Generally he kept us moving forward time and time again.

alexf
I completed forgot he was due another 3 year contract why can't he just have his last hurrah and go out in blaze of glory.
