Pilko
Debut was yesterday, subbed after 58 minutes without scoring. Probably.
Ronaldo
Failing to score and not being physically capable of running mincing around for an hour doesn't sound anything like him, to be fair.
Willow
Would you guys take Shola as our manager, instead of Pardew?

Guest TruToon94
He'd be worse in different, more horrible ways that we haven't evolved to contemplate yet. I doubt that even Shola would rate Shola as being as good as Tevez...
Big Geordie
My boss was telling me, last week that he's been talking to Shola's dad (as he knows him very well, through the church) Says Shola is settling in well, but is having to get English food flown out to him, as he can't getaway with the local grub. Food flown out to him?! Can't he at least learn to cook what he likes himself. Shola is so embarrassing man.

Hughesy
It could well be that the ingredients he want aren't easy to source in Turkey? Really isn't that weird..
TaylorJ_01
I dunno, it's just a bit british and pathetic. If you move country at least try and get into the culture a tiny bit
KaKa
Agree about Turkish food too. It's legit man. Shola's such a big wuss.
Heron
TBF I'm sure lots of players do this sort of thing. Any excuse made to knock the fella as usual...
TaylorJ_01
TBF I'm sure lots of players do this sort of thing. Any excuse made to knock the fella as usual... That's my point - standard Brit abroad behaviour I'd love if a player or manager went abroad, learned the language, got into the culture etc. Instead of flying sausage and mash out on a chartered flight and speaking with a weird, Dutch accent (McClaren). More a general viewpoint than one aimed at ol' shithead shola.

It's got nowt to do with the Brit' thing. I can see why you feel that way like, but he's not alone and it isn't just 'us'.
AyeDubbleYoo
Turkish is my favourite cuisine I reckon, gorgeous stuff. Can't see how anyone could struggle with it.
Hughesy
Bit stupid to be discussing this at such great length, given that we don't really know any of the facts, but anyway - I think however much you embrace a new culture, you are always going to hold on to something from your home (especially in the early stages). If in 6 months time, Shola has only eaten beans on toast and sausages then fair enough... criticism is perfectly justified!

Other way round for me - probably, along with North African food, my least favourite type of cuisine to be honest. Maybe that's why I am standing up for Shola! Yeah fair enough "when in Rome..." is sort of my life motto and I can't understand it when people insist on recreating their home life in a different place. TaylorJ_01
I just love chucking everything and anything into a pitta bread and getting wired in. Favourite type of food (I know there's more to turkish food than kebabs ).
AyeDubbleYoo
Pitta's not the best bread for it IMO, there's that other softer one that's made for soaking stuff up. Slightly off topic.

Yeah that's the one I'm thinking of but can't remember the name. Entered the Shola thread and exited wanting a kebab - strangely apt.
