Me neither. They're a big lot and we could do with Campbell's strength at set pieces. they are a big lot but they don't play to it.
Dokko
Colo and Gutierrez backed by Lionel Messi Oct 2 2010 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle LIONEL MESSI has backed his fellow countrymen Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez to “come out fighting” in tomorrow’s Premier League battle with Manchester City. The game has captured the imagination in Argentina with Toon aces Coloccini and Jonas going in against their Argentinian international team-mate and Man City captain Carlos Tevez. Barcelona superstar Messi – who will keep check on the score from United’s trip to City before his own side take on Real Mallorca at the Nou Camp – has noted the pair’s absence from the latest Argentina squad to face Japan, but still rates the Magpies duo. Messi was this week crowned Golden Boot winner after being the top scorer in Europe with 34 goals last season. Speaking from Barcelona, Messi told the Chronicle: “The great thing about both Jonas and Colo is, like Newcastle, they always seem to put up a good fight. “I think that tomorrow, for sure, it will be a great game to watch. “Man City have been playing very well and so has Carlos Tevez. “They’ve both been scoring well this season so far. “Newcastle have a great chance because they come out fighting for each game. “And for all three of them, Jonas, Colo and Carlos, they will see this as a nice match to play in because three Argentinians are all involved with the game.” Jonas and Coloccini stated this week in the Chronicle that they were eager to have a good season in the Premier League in order to keep their chances of a place in the squad for the Copa America in tact and stay within the thoughts of new coach Sergio Batista. Messi has always been a big fan of both players but feels Newcastle have one of Europe’s best wingers in the shape of Jonas. And he has never made any secret of his admiration for the Toon star. He said: “Jonas has a lot of skill, we’ve seen him score goals but he can also make them as well. “He’s got the ability to beat his man and get past him. “If he can link up with the strikers at Newcastle, then he should create a few goals this season. “I wish him all of the best for the rest of the season with Newcastle.” However, despite the kind words from Barca legend Messi, Jonas may have to settle for a place on the bench at Eastlands. Chris Hughton could stick with Hatem Ben Arfa and Wayne Routledge as his wing kings against Man City after the South American started the last two Premier League games on the bench. Dokko
I'm interpreting that as Messi wants to join the Toon. The daft, and I mean ludicrous thought had crossed my mind, like with Del Piero. I love it how the world's greatest player has us in our thoughts and watches our games. Something special about that...For those down the road it must be painful to know. Looks like they aren't the only ones obsessed with us.

Both looked slow against Juve the toher night. Boateng was decent going forward, but both were shaky defensively.
merlin
Unfortunately we'll be here time and time again this season. Needing to pick up points against teams we can't compete with because of negative tactics losing us points against the basement clubs. This is exactly why I was so concerned after losing to Stoke and Blackpool at SJP, esp Blackpool. Those games are 6 pointers and if you fail to win them it puts you under enormous pressure to get results against teams who you know have much better players. Result desperately needed today after yesterday's matches. If we lose this and then fail to beat Wigan, there is a growing likelihood that ourselves and Wolves will start to lose ground against the rest of the potential strugglers.
