Guest sicko2ndbest
I'm sitting outside the ground and it is bucketing it down. If this carries on till ko no chance!
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Yep, still raining according to a text I've just got
sander68
Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. There's a big possibility for us getting trashed. The next game is against Wigan, and we can't afford to face them with low morale.
Guest andrew
I reckon this one's off.
lovejoy
I live in Manchester. And it's hammering it down. Honestly don't think it will be a bad thing for us if it's off like.
Skeletor
Isn't there more pressure put on officials to let games go ahead if they're on TV?
Guest BooBoo
It's eased off a bit but still coming down.

Pilko
Isn't there more pressure put on officials to let games go ahead if they're on TV? That's what I'm thinking. If it is called off it'll be a last-minute shout, or they'll start the game and then call it off midway.
Mick
The forecast is for it to get better as the day goes on.
Belfast Boy
Ideally we want it to be as bad as possible without being called off. An almost unplayable pitch will require more work ethic and team spirit as opposed to the individual talent which they are so obviously stronger in. Dave
Can't see why it would be called off. Rarely happens these days just for rain.
Elliottman
Can't see why it would be called off. Rarely happens these days just for rain. is what i was thinking. not a single mention anywhere about it being in doubt.

Poor conditions can be a something of a leveler. It's about who adapts best.
Guest prestonj1989
From twitter The ref has just taken a look at the pitch here and as it stands, is good to for the game. Drainage appears to be working fine

Ashley17
Carroll was poor against Stoke but if it's Shola who's in...Shola is poor against everybody (bar his one good game in ten)
Dave
Can only think he's injured. There's no way we'd drop him considering the alternatives.

Ashley17
Capello's quotes confuse me: Carroll's impressive start to the season in the Premier League for Newcastle United has prompted suggestions the striker will be called into the England senior ranks. He has been left out of the Under 21 squad for the European Championship qualifiers against Romania and his absence is not injury related. Capello will speak to Under 21 coach Stuart Pearce about Carroll before deciding whether to select the 21-year-old for the Montenegro game. "With Andy Carroll, I heard he has this injury. I have to speak with Stuart Pearce. "I met him in manager meetings and he told me there is some problem with this player. Is it an injury? I don't know. We spoke about Carroll."
