"Reassurances That Every Penny Will Be Reinvested In The TEAM."

I don't think we'll spend anywhere near that, but that money should definitely be all available. Surely Ashley was gonna hand over some sort of transfer money to Pardew in the summer, even if it was only £10m, so why not give the manager all of the transfer money and Ashley doesnt have to put any extra towards it.

I am stuck in who i should believe. One minute I believe AC then the next i believe MA/AP. I think i will reserve judgement tomorrow night and future games to see if money is invested in Summer. The plan was survival then invest. So lets wait and see

So this is the poodle who said Andy's not being sold about 5 times in one sentence about one week ago?

And we should believe him?

Ok then. :dowie:

I doubt he was expecting him to hand in a transfer request.

Or anyone being daft enough to stump up £35M.

Reinvestment into the squad is the only thing we can hope for. We've lost our best player who didn't want to go with no time to find anyone else. I'm not going to sink myself into the state of not believing us to reinvest this, because if we don't, then I've lost all hope for the club.

`kids with 6 months left on their contract we can get for 35m`

I think at least 8m should be spent on players age 15-17. If we can cherry pick talent from around the world, it secures our future.

Secures Mike future you mean. He an continue to sell our best youth product every time and go the casino. That ain't how you build a team, it's how you get easy cash.

Just listening to Pardew on SSN

He does specifically say Ashley promised all of it will be reinvested back into the squad not club. He then says again itll go back into the team.

Hahahahahahaha will never happen.

Even if the comment is true, he should just kept his mouth shut. Knowing Castle got money will increase the player prices this summer, and we NEED new players. So whatever, this shit is going down the drain again...

I think we all just have to realise that we are a selling club, always have been, always will be. As long as we all keep trudging along to St James Park every week (and we all know we will), as long as we JUST stay up, as long as the team show a bit of fight every now and again, we don't have to show ambition or a need to win things. It was like this 40 years ago and it's like this now. Beardsley, Waddle, Gascoigne, Kennedy, Carroll, and lots more I can't be arsed to think of or list.

Just think of the club we COULD have been if we had kept all those players and built teams around them. We'd be like Man U or Arsenal. The common denominator in all this is the owners, not the players, or the fans - the owners - from Lord Westwood to McKeag to Shepherd to Hall to Ashley.  Millionaires and power hungry egoists who feed off fans' hopes.

They've always known they don't have to BE ambitious, just fool us into thinking they are.

If he doesn't re-invest it, he'll lose gate receipts and probably his first choice manager. In all honesty i think Ashley's come out of this with a good amount of respect. The whole thing has provided him with an excellent opportunity to renew a bit of faith and build one or two bridges. Who'sever fault it is that Carroll's left, no one can deny we've claimed a bloody brilliant fee - a club record. Well done to them for that.

The only way i can see us not spending the money this summer is through scouting and/or negotiating failures. Which is why i think it's imperative we generate most of our targets in Europe, or said problems will be more likely to happen imo.

I'm starting to come round to Pardew, i think he's got more integrity than a lot of us (me included) give him credit for. He looked gaunt and genuinely gutted in the press conference this afternoon.
