Their entire squad is deadwood, with a couple of exceptions.

Completely agree, out of interest who do you rate as the exceptions?

Oh, you know fine well. :naughty:

Piss off man.

Okay, on top of Carlton? who else?

When West Ham first went down they didn't go straight back up but did the season afterwards. I think if you stay in the Championship for more than 2 seasons then you are going to struggle to get out of it unless you go down a level again. Right now at this moment in time I can't see any team certain to go up, Birmingham are probably in the best position but apart from that I can't see anyone more likely than anyone else to go up.

The fact that an East London club are heavily supported in East London does not make them a massive club.

And Essex ... like someone else said, even 30-40 miles into Essex, in places like Southend and Colchester there are a lot of West Ham supporters. Where I live, in Chelmsford I would say West Ham are the most supported club. There is a fair amount of West Ham fans in Kent, Surrey and Hertfordshire as well. Definitely not just an East London club.

Aye, because most of the proper east end cockney's now live in Essex now.

Quite wanted WHU to come straight back up, now I hope they rot and burn. Be interesting too see if Allardyce can ship the deadwood as it isn't really forte.

The Allardyce shipping company tends to specialise in deadwood in rather than out.  Hope we can offload a couple of duffers to him this summer.

This is a big day in our history I feel. I have a great feeling about this. Sam could go on to be our best manager in the history of West Ham.

Said it before and will say it again, not my kind of bloke and not my kind of football. I love it that Westham fans are so positive and optimistic and would shag a donkey if it wore claret and blue, but I'm not prepared to be carried away with this euphoria or pragmatism, whichever floats your boat. With a very heavy heart I won't be renewing my season tickets.

I've never ever felt this way when we've appointed a new manager but Allardyce? You've got to be f***ing joking me right? If only the board had brought in either O'neill or Hodgson in January - we wouldn't be in this stiuation now and being grateful that this washed up loser has taken the job! I mean for all his admirers on here (sorry boys and girls but I just can't see it myself!) what the f*** has he REALLY acheived in football ? A reputation as some sort of expert built on f*** all - a smoke and mirrors merchant, that's what he is!! FFS the club is crying out for the stability that someone like Curbishley would have given !! I wouldn't have minded if they'd given someone young like Hughton, McDermott or even Eddie Howe a go but Allardyce? I just despair,I really f***ing despair ! The unholy trinity of Gold Sullivan and Brady might own the club but they know f*** all about how to run it!

On Talksport NOW!

Says we're a one of the biggest club he's had opportunity to manage next to the Barcodes.

Looking forward to taking us to the OS.

Well aware of our history and the way we play football.

Mentioned the 'boring' tag of longball football.

Now talking about a rebuild of the team, finances etc and getting out of the Champs.

NOT spoken to Scotty about staying but will speak to the chairmen about their backing.

I've sent an email to all my mates expecting a few to be less then pleased. When this all started I was far more anti than I am now I just feel completely flat. I will probably get more into his appointment as the summer goes on but right now feel like I've been invited to the party of a mate of a mate that I think is a c*** and all my mates think is totally cool only I know the geezer is a c*** because I saw him secretly shagging my mates bird but don't want to tell him because I quite like her as well and he also knows it...

Would've preferred Ancelotti to be honest.

The West Ham negotiations have gone pretty smoothly. Although my "Bobby Moore was a thief" gag was an uncharacteristic misstep in hindsight.

Those jellied eel-eating bastards better let me complete Resident Evil 5 before I start working. I've got Wesker just where I want him.

just interviewed on 5 live, what a tit. interviewer asked him about footballing style and he replies with a list of flair players he had at bolton and finished with 'we played that particular way did we?' then in the next breath starts saying that west ham will play the way they need to relating to how good the players are and that everyone needs to accept that they've been relegated etc etc

utter charlatan.

It will be interesting to see if he plays the same type of football at West Ham as he played here, whether the London press will continue to think quite so highly of him.  Certainly our local press have very little good to say about him.
