Guest firetotheworks
So it does actually speed up in terms of our perception. I'm going to just take your word for it, you, someone off the internet.

Dr.Spaceman
Jesus, as if people actually thought it sped up I've had the same argument with mates over the speed a cricket bowler actually bowls. It's never going to be 90mph by the time the ball actually reaches the bowler.
Guest bimpy474
I always thought footballs move in the air because of striking of it near the valve. The shots that move in the air are because the player has lucked out at the point of striking it right on the valve ?. It's how Ronaldo lines up his free kick with the valve facing him, i think i read. Or am i making that up.

The College Dropout
Same thing with athletics. Most sprinter peak around 60m-70m and slow down. Although it looks like Bolt is running faster and faster as the pack disappears, he's actually just slowing down much slower.

Wallace
The SDN website article on this is like an advertising feature pointing out the merits of the interested clubs and that he will have lots of options when he leaves (and he will because his situation at Newcastle is complicated!). It looks like Ashley is inviting £20m offers again and trying to create a bidding war between interested parties now that he has put together a string of good performances. Mole_Toonfan
Didn't they just sign Strootman in the Summer too? Aye and they have about 4 or 5 others who are just as good as Cabaye if not better in some cases. Not a chance there's any truth to this...... just noticing Roma are doing well under Cabaye's old manager and putting 2 and 2 together coming up with 8.
