Yohan Cabaye retires

Anita will never be a defensive midfielder in England unless undergoes a Shola-like body transformation or decides to grow four inches like Mikel did. Simply too weak, and looks at his best playing short passes and bringing the ball forward.

Like Carrick, Barry, Allen, Lucas, Arteta, Osman, McCarthy, Britton etc etc? Tbh the DM position doesn't exist in most teams in teams in this country anymore.... you have a deep lying playmaker and a b2b midfielder with an attacking midfielder or advanced playmaker infront of them.

Man Utd don't play with one, City don't ( well sometimes they do but first choice is Yaya-Barry), Liverpool don't, Arsenal don't, Everton don't, Swansea don't etc etc.

We are one of the few teams that do.

Arsenal have drifted out to 6/1 to sign Yohan Cabaye this month, with Manchester United now the same price as the Gunners, who’ve headed the betting from the off. However, Newcastle look as though they’ll manage to keep the Frenchman this transfer window at least

Was watching Swansea a couple of weeks ago and thought he'd be perfect for the Britton type role, intercepting, hassling players and playing it forward.

Imagine how fucked off Debuchy would be if Cabaye decided to leave

Oh and I'd be pretty pissed too.

Sissoko is good, but wrong to mention him and 'an eye for goal' in the same sentence.

Didn't mean he'd be a scorer like a Nolan, just that he actually pushes his team forward and gets in good attacking positions - his end product still needing work from everything I've read.

I know debuchy has come and that would seem we have yo cabs for another year, but hypothetically if someone like Man U came in would he seriously be like 'yeah ill reject them just for you mathieu' doubt it IMO.

Would he bollocks.

They'd have to pay silly money though.

Fair enough, odd to use an eye for goal though.
