Dr Venkman
so what makes berbatov any different to defoe? joint top scorer last season?
Fugazi
Owen was 16 mil plus extras and on 103 k a week. No way would we be this stupid again. berb must be on around atleast 120K , even if he takes 50% cut, which will never happen, he may take wround 20-30 cut even thats pushing it. there's no we would pay him like 80k for a 30 year old. Hardly runs unless you give him the ball, we already have similar player in Stroller minus the skills. So not similar at all then?

Guest young master
Perhaps with Shola and Best, Pardew sees the nippy striker as being of more importance? for berbitov to be affective you need a runner along side him, someone that do all the running for berbitov, someone like rooney. or keane whilst he was at spurs. we dont have that? what Lovenkrands? so basically even if we push the boat out for berbi we will need another new foward next to him. is that really worth it? big money on two new strikers , and this partnership will only work as a partnership, either one gets injured and whole sh1t falls apart. Seem to remember him leading the line well at Spurs, Man utd play a different way. Hey ho, if we can afford him, get him if he is willing to come. And we still have wedge to improve the defence. oldtype
We "might" be signing the Premier League's top scorer for 7.5 million pounds, and some people are turning their noses up on it. Seriously, just stop. He won't be coming either way, but still, just stop.

relámpago blanco
For £7.5m we'd be crazy not to buy him. Not that I think it's a possibility. That said, I would like a forward with a bit of presence and graft as well. I wouldn't like our team to consist entirely of lightweight European playmakers and Tiote. this is exactly what we need to do, he can do all the fighting, he could take on a roman legion solo. Wullie
One thing that certainly sets him apart from Owen is that he's not very injury prone, very rarely out.
Hanshithispantz
Goalscoring isn't even neccesarily Berbatov's selling point, he's just also pretty good at it, he's a complete polar opposite of Jermain Defoe in just about every sense as a footballer. Seriously, just stop. He won't be coming either way, but still, just stop. Leaving out the fantasy side of it (no way he'll come here, wages too much for us etc..), I don't think anyone is questioning his ability at all. It's a totally different kettle of fish playing for Man Utd and SAF is your boss. His hunger for the game is questionable, and I'm really curious to know the reasons behind him behing left out completely of the final squad, when they only had Mickey Mouse Owen as the alternative!! Not so straightforward this one...

Guest BooBoo
Been a strange season for Berbatov. Yes he got the golden boot but seemed to score in distinct bursts and then going a long time without scoring, culminating in endingthe season out in the cold.
