People need to understand why ba has a clause.

For insurance reasons noone can buy him for much more than his clause states.

His release fee is the equivalent of Jelavic having a 20 million pound release clause.

What if More Than put in offer in ?

Ba frustrated at attempts to move him on

By Scott Wilson

DEMBA Ba is growing increasingly frustrated with his representatives' attempts to tout him to alternative employers this summer, increasing hopes that he will remain at Newcastle United beyond the end of the transfer window.

Ba, whose future is uncertain because of the existence of a £7m buyout clause in his contract, has been linked with a growing number of clubs in recent weeks.

The likes of Tottenham, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have all been credited with an interest in the Senegal international, although Newcastle officials are still to receive a single formal offer for his services.

The Magpies hierarchy believe Ba's name is being distributed around clubs by his various representatives, who stand to earn up to £3m if he leaves St James' Park this summer. Like a number of overseas players, Ba has a large group of associates who claim to be representing him in his affairs.

There is a growing sense of urgency to their dealings, as it is understood that Ba's buyout clause expires on July 31, meaning there is little more than a month in which a cut-price deal can take place.

The unknown quantity all summer has been Ba's position, and as he prepares to return to work following a summer break, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will make a frank discussion with the striker his number one priority.

He is hopeful of receiving a positive response as Ba is known to have grown increasingly frustrated with the constant speculation linking him with a move away from Tyneside.

Sources close to the 27-year-old claim he has not been agitating for a transfer and would like to stay at Newcastle for at least another season.

Ba scored 16 goals in 34 matches last term, and while he was disappointed to be moved to the left flank in the latter stages of the campaign to accommodate Papiss Cisse, he is happy with his blossoming partnership with his compatriot.

He is unhappy with some of the unsolicited discussions that have taken place behind his back and is hoping to conclusively resolve his situation before the start of pre-season training.

Meanwhile, German third division side FC Chemnitz have claimed they will host a pre-season friendly with Newcastle on Friday, July 13.

The numerous quotes in that article has me completely convincedthat Scott Wilson is a shite journalist

He would only leave, in my opinion, if it is a top 4 club with champions league football, otherwise, there is no other reason to leave other than money. Judging by the way he has settled here though, that may not be as much of a factor hopefully. huge loss if he goes, however we will lose him for 2 months anyway thanks to ACN

Brendan Rodgers is considering a move for £7million hitman Demba Ba.

The Newcastle striker is available at that knockdown price until July 31 because of a clause in his contract.

After that date, clubs would have to pay the 27-year-old's full market value.

Ba hit 15 goals last season, before heading off on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Senegal.

His scoring touch dried up when he returned, although he was pushed out to a wide position to accommodate the January signing of his international team-mate Papiss Cisse.

Rodgers is likely to face competition for Ba's signature, with Tottenham also interested.

He'd go. Probably bollocks of course.

If he went there I wouldn't even feel a teeny bit of guilt for wishing his knees fell off.

It's becoming quite tiresome reading about Ba being "shunted" out wide to accommodate Cisse, it's almost as if they never once interchanged position during games, or even at times when Cisse scored early on Ba never had the opportunity to play as a central striker for the rest of the game.

More likely to be activated on the last day of the window.

Yeah, thats what I think too. Paris or Turkey is where he'll go I think.

Read the first line thinking "Why would he go to Swansea :yao:?" , forgot about who he manages now, the sentiment remains :yao: .

If rumours are to be believed the clause doesn't even apply to them. Would be hilarious if they came in and said: "Right, so we've heard about this clause in Ba's contract. Here's the 7 million required to get him in", only for us to turn around and reply: "the clause only applies to the top clubs. We'll be having another 35 million if you want to talk to him thank you very much. Now kindly piss off".
