If Ba had come out with this earlier, people such as Luke Edwards would simply say he was pandering to the fans and didn't mean it.

 

Might be wrong, but i'm pretty certain that is what Edwards said when Ba uploaded that video earlier in the summer.  :laugh:

Luke Edwards is one of the worst football journalists out there and he comes across as an absolute cunt to boot. I don't think he's ever broken an exclusive in his life and he seem to be riddled with bitterness about something. Did someone shit on his desk and plant an NUFC flag in it when he left the Journal? This time he's probably got a hair up his arse that Ryder got an interview with Ba and he's left having the piss taken out of him on Twitter because he's linking the remains of Stanley Matthews with Sunderland.

STRIKER Demba Ba holds the key to any emotional return to Tyneside for Liverpool’s £35million man Andy Carroll.

 

 

Only if Ba’s release clause – under which he can leave for £7m – is activated by Tuesday’s midnight deadline will Newcastle United make a move for their ex-striker.

 

Newcastle are powerless to prevent Senegal international Ba’s people talking to interested parties until the end of July.

 

It is understood a couple of clubs in Russia and Turkish giants Galatasaray are involved in talks to sign the popular St James’ Park striker.

 

Newcastle want Ba to stay and are prepared to offer him an improved contract.

 

Once Tuesday night’s deadline has passed the ball is back in their court over whether he leaves, with the transfer fee being set by the Newcastle hierarchy.

 

 

If Ba is tempted away in the next 48 hours through the promise of a large slice of the current £7m fee then the Geordies will look at bringing Carroll back.

West Ham want Carroll on a season-long loan with the promise of shelling out a club record fee of £17m next summer for the England international.

 

But Sunday Express Sport understands that Carroll does not want to move to Upton Park even though Hammers manager Sam Allardyce is prepared to build his Premier League assault around him.

 

Carroll would like to stay and prove himself to new Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers.

 

Newcastle, meanwhile, are on the verge of signing France international right back Mathieu Debuchy

whats the fucking point writing an article prentending to be an 'insider' knowing whos going where and then giving them a 1/5 or a 2/5 chance of it happening? they dont really have a clue at all do they

If it's really him or Carroll I think Ba's the better player. Nothing against getting Carroll back because we need a bit more strenght in depth but getting rid of Ba to make way for Carroll wouldn't be a good thing to do.

If he was someone would have bought him for £7m.

 

Probably people are still thinking about his knee-issues. Also, it's probably a plus for us now that he didn't have a great 2nd half of the season.

Still though, £7m for a player ten times better than £35m Andy Carroll, even at a conservative estimate of £10m for Carroll, Ba is the worlds most expensive player.

Seems obvious to me that the so-called release clause isn't as simple as someone just offering £7m and taking him.

 

Precisely. He wouldn't be here if it was as cut-and-dry as that, simple. Whether it was another top half team wanting to make him their top striker, or just a cash-rich club stock-piling - someone would have taken him off our hands.

 

Pardew admitted there was a clause in his last radio interview, but even then said it wasn't as simple as "£7m, there you go."
