I think we need another central striker but I'm also not sure Cisse works well with a partner so I'd be happy for both competing for the same spot.

Same but do you trust Pardew to rotate them effectively? because i don't.

he wont come back...he is very keen on making big money -  first and then CL football second. He will never come back as we were (fair enough) used as a stepping stone. He have not made enough money in his short chelsea career...so if he leaves he will go after the biggest money imo.

Not very much at this point at time  But with Cisse and another striker i already have history to back me up why i don't trust him to get another CF in and not totally imbalance the whole team in the process.

I think Ba was a special case tbh - obviously his contract was all over the shop. Sometimes he'd shoot instead of pass ffs.

Where does this mercenary thing come from? He joined a club that regularly wins trophies and is in the CL every year.

I'd take him back, Sell Papiss and bring another striker in. That's not realistic at all though.

The mercenary thing comes from him basically stating that he'll go where the money is. Apparently he has a lot of people to look after. Either way, I'd take him back.

Hypothetically speaking of course, I see no reason why he would want to come back and work under Pardew again. He's already achieved the absolute maximum this club will reach under Pardew and Ashley, and we won't be able to match the wages he is currently on at Chelsea. There'll also be a few clubs capable of giving him what he wants financially, with the added incentive of trophies if he is interested in those.

Hope he goes abroad. Always pangs seeing a decent, popular Newcastle player doing it for someone else in the Premier League.

Not that it's remotely likely, but he's one of a select few former players I'd have back in an instant. Good bloke and a cracking striker, Demba.

Really? Do you have a link?

Nope, just recall him stating something along those lines shortly after leaving us. Honestly no idea where I read it, but I'm fairly sure it was discussed on here.  :dontknow: If it helps, it was something to do with the number of people back in Senegal that he's responsible for. He needs as much money as possible so he can continue supporting others.

EDIT: Actually, here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2255585/Demba-Ba-says-gives-money-family-forget-people-struggle.html

Mercenary is a bit harsh, but the sentiment seems to be that he was always going to take the biggest contract ahead of footballing reasons (not that Chelsea don't trump us there too).

We seem to spend a lot of time on here talking about former players returning to the club, despite the fact it hardly ever happens.

Solano is the only one I can think of.
