ujpest doza
5 minute flashes here and there and 80 minutes hiding is my recollection of him. weak as piss anarl.
Tachikoma
^compared to the rest of our bunch who run around like headless chickens for 90.
Hanshithispantz
ujpest doza is from the same thinking as Pardew so there's no surprise really. Absolutely over the moon that we're drawing games to see The King's job is safe.
AyeDubbleYoo
Have to admit I wasn't that gutted to see Marv go out, although he should've been given more of a chance. The timing was the most idiotic thing really, getting rid of all our creative players at the same time.
Wullie
5 minute flashes? Gouffran hasn't managed 5 minutes in 10 months.
Wallsendmag
5 minute flashes? Gouffran hasn't managed 5 minutes in 10 months. If we want to be challenging for the top 6-8 positions, which is where a club of our size should be, not scrapping with the likes of QPR and Burnley down at the bottom, neither Marveaux or Gouffran should be anywhere near our first XI. Of course, but one is (and the first name on the team sheet) and the other, who can actually create something, isnt. I know which one I'd rather have right now. Ste
I don't totally rate Marv, but you need players of his ilk in your team or you'll struggle to create chances. It's stupid that we haven't got that central player other than de Jong, but I'd say he was a different type of option.
Ash
How many times did he play in the #10 role for us? It's hardly surprising he didn't pull up any trees as a winger in this league.

Yeah, he never suggested the attributes to be a wide player.
KaKa
Not sure he ever got a run at number 10. Think half a game before getting yanked for not flying into tackles.
TRon
Anyone with half an eye for football could see that Marveaux had the best end product of our midfield players from an attacking point of view. True enough he wasn't great going backwards, but since we were playing with 3 defensive midfielders for the majority of his time here, that wasn't really important. How's it working it now we've got 11 grafters on the pitch apart from that penalty box moocher Cisse? Just imagine if he wasn't playing how much better we'd look as a team. KaKa
Hahahahahahahahahahaha ... you have to see the quotes from the Gunigamp manager on Marveaux man! “We know that when operating at his level, he’s not a player for Guingamp. His future is not here, he has the qualities to evolve well above. He has used us as a springboard but it does not bother us at all.” “We do a little of Newcastle’s work, they are going to get a hell of a player.” Honestly ... I could cry a flood of tears at the tragedy of gifting other teams Marv, Ben Arfa and Mapou man. The guy actually thinks he's going to come back to us, and be of use to us God this is too depressing. DJ_NUFC
Shocking quotes, tbh. How fucking clueless is Alan fucking Pardew?
Ryan_Taylor
Ideally by the time he (and MYM) come back. Pardew will be long gone.

Ste
Still not convinced he's that great but you need a player of his ilk in the team. We have zero creativity in midfield.

AyeDubbleYoo
I love the phrase 'offloading' when applied to all of our most useful players. Shame we're no closer to 'offloading' fucking Saylor or Obertan.
