Ryan_Taylor
Jonas would be completely wasted that high up the pitch, especially against Arsenal. Against anyone really, his best asset is his ability to run at (past?) people
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Jonas would be completely wasted that high up the pitch, especially against Arsenal. You reckon. I just think Marveaux would provide more from the left for Ba (and Ameobi if we go 442). Jonas' pointless mazy runs in the middle would baffle those clueless Arsenal defenders no end. Be like a game of Scrambles.
Nepharite
4-2-3-1 Squad Krul/Forster Simpson/Raylor Wilo/STaylor Colo/Kadar Jose/Pieters? Cabaye/Gosling Tiote/Guthrie Obertan/Barton Arfur/Vukic Marveaux/Jonas Ba/Best/Shola/
bodson
Lets hope we keep Barton and Jose + get another striker in. Then Im very happy with the squad for the coming season. My choice would be to go for Bendtner as our main striker. Think he would be perfect for this lineup with Ben Arfa just behind him.
toptoon
Krul/Harper Simpson Taylor Colocinni Enrique Barton Cabaye Tiote Jonas Gola Ba Subs: Harper/Krul, Will, Guthrie, Gosling, Best + two of Marveux??, Obertan or vuckik, sameobi, Kadar, Tavernier Whilst Barfa is out that is what i would go with for the first two games as things currently stand. You have to play Gola (the Mackem destroyer) against the Mackems he needs a proper game to warm up for this and i also think Gola is the best option we have against Arsenal too. Can't see us having too much success on the floor against Arsenal with the likes of Best, Vuckik etc their lack of movement isn't good enough to trouble them. Arsenal are a bit too slick for them unfortunately. With Gola we don't really know what your going to get and neither do they. Ba and Shola are both a handful in the air and Arsenal are weak at the back its a gamble i'd take. Ba and Shola should cause them problems at the back with their strength and height if nothing else. Best and Vuckik i just doubt will be good enough and be marked out the game. With Barton, Cabaye, Tiote Jonas we have a very good defensively hardworking midfield. Barton is positionally brilliant knows when to get forward when to defend when to cut inside and can ping fantastic crosses over all day long. Cabaye is solid also and can pick a pass through the middle and hopefully get forward himself. Tiote is excellent (our best player) and will make sure we are not overun in the midfield. Jonas also good defensively and will also run at them all day long carrying the ball from our back line to our forward line winning free kicks and maybe one of his mazy runs will create something. If spirits are high with this team we should at least give them a game. I may stick a few quid on Taylor to score if he starts.

Ba is very isolated though.

Fenham Mag
Barton, Tiote, Cabaye, Colo , Enrique and Ben Arfa when fit are definite starters for me.
traeir
------------------------Krul------------------------ Simpson-------Taylor-------Colo-----------Jose --------------Cabaye-------Tiote----------------- Barton---------Vuckic but Arfa(when fit)-------Jonas/Marv/Obertan ----------------------Ba----------------------------------- Why can't we use the Carroll money to buy Sturridge, Samba or Hangeland and a new RB. I would guarantee a top 6-7 finish!!

AyeDubbleYoo
If we could keep Jose and sign a striker we would have the best team for years. Unlikely obviously. Hans, that midfield for Arsenal looks good, they would struggle to cope with that.
ChrisMcQuillan
I still think Williamson's a better option than Taylor. Yes, Taylor offers more goal throat, but the defence just don't play as an organised unit with Taylor in the middle compared to Williamson. I don't know what it is, and I dearly wish we could sort it out cause it's clear Taylor's got the better physique of the two. It's just the simplicity of Williamson's game suits us better. Agreed, the only reason I don't hate Taylor playing is that he obviously cares a lot and pops up with the odd goal. For the defensive unit, Williamson is probably better. AyeDubbleYoo
The great thing is that there's a lot of energy and athleticism in that front 6, that's what you need to compete in this league.

SEMTEX
Cabaye's job is to stand beside the opposition goal and do lunges to distract their keeper.
madras
krul simpson colo taylor santon cabaye tiote jonas ban araf merveaux ba/bent ben arfa/merveaux woukld have to learn to aid the midfield in hutning down the wide players (midfiled and full backs) though they may prefer this to trailing players all over as it means pushing on pressurising.
