wormy
Love this guy. Fucking rock. Screw cult hero. As long as he signs a new contract so we know he'll be here for a few more years to come, he's bumping up to Icon in my book. [/fmtastic]
Lenny
He's set himself one hell of a standard with this start.
Guest CheickMansour
Seems to really respond to being given the armband. Obviously sees it as an honour and a responsibility, unlike some others we've had. Really delighted with his performances so far.

Really delighted with his performances so far. He doesn't revel in it in the sense of 'I'm the big man'. He revels in it in the sense of he wants to just do the best job he possibly can for the team. Love the quotes from Pardoo above, about how he's got a lot more involved in conversations with him about the vision for the team etc.

Guest michaelfoster
dont think he is very vocal on the pitch but he seems a top professional
Guest icemanblue
dont think he is very vocal on the pitch but he seems a top professional Noticed he was very vocal today, actually. He was organising the defence during the majority of set pieces.
Guest fraser
It is anathema to me to recognise that "Ronaldo" was right but this man has improved far beyond what I thought that he was capable of.
Skirge
I loved the way he fkn stormed forward today, that was our skipper saying enough is efknough.. brilliant again.

Mr. Snrub
Colo and Smalling - the 2 best centre backs in the league right now in terms of current form.

Mr. Snrub
Aye, but he's a cb. Was unreal today and even made some class runs down the wing. Would make a very good DM aswell, so comfortable on the ball.
ponsaelius
So you've been convinced by Smalling now? I remember you saying relatively recently you'd seen nothing in him that he was going to be top class.
Mr. Snrub
Used to be unsure of Smalling but he's the real deal. Like watching a young Rio.
ponsaelius
England could do with him becoming a right back, really.
TRon
Colo was fucking immense tonight. Didn't just defend magnificently alongside Taylor and the rest but launched attacks as well when he had the opportunity.
Cronky
poor defending by him for the goal Whatever his strengths, he's always been poor at defending set pieces. Previously, we've worked around that at free kicks, and not asked him to mark any of the better headers of the ball among the opposition. This season I don't think we've been protecting him so much and it cost us yesterday. It nearly cost us at Scunthorpe. Nolan and Barton were quite good at helping out at set pieces so maybe we've not got much choice. But if it's about Colo becoming captain and feeling he needs to set a good example then we need to think again.
Conjo
Think it´s more down to his size than ability when defending set pieces.
Cajun
It's a shame it looks like we are missing out on Pieters. Looks quite a beasty left back.
