Has to be the most evil chairman this club has ever seen. Disgrace of a bloke, he's taken our football club and made it his Sports Direct play thing. He only has two ways out of this, he sells up and f***s off for good... or he signs Rafa to a 5 year deal, gives him full control and the budget to succeed. Sadly both seem like impossible situations to imagine coming true.

Yet he will have a few contenders in Championship for most cuntish owner :-)

"This relegation, confirmed in the most painful of ways by bitter rivals Sunderland beating Everton to secure their top-flight status, is the culmination of years of rot and poor decisions.

Under Ashley, Newcastle have finished 12th, 18th, first in the Championship, 12th, fifth, 16th, 10th, 15th and are now confirmed as bottom-three material again.

In the six years before he took over, they had three top-five finishes and also a seventh place.

In 18 attempts at the domestic cups during the Ashley era, they’ve gone beyond the fourth round of either one just once.

Their one season of joy, that fifth place under Alan Pardew, was the exception.

The rule was a lack of ambition, under-investment, bad buys, an unbalanced squad and selling the club to players as a stepping stone rather than somewhere to make their dreams reality.

Since Pardew quit for Crystal Palace at the end of December 2014, Newcastle have won just 12 games out of 60 — a run including 34 defeats."

Finished bottom half in 6 of his 8 seasons with 2 relegations. Bravo indeed.

@woodhousecurtis Newcastle fans demanded Pardew sacked and money spent. Ashley did exactly what they wanted and now it's his fault?

Well he didn't sack Pardew for starters.
