Just the Mirror trying to stir the pot and put their own spin on a story.

Every other outlet, official and unofficial have said that she’s in preliminary talks to buy us, even saying she’s visited the Stoke game a few weeks earlier.

She wasn’t there for Liverpool, she’s been interested in them in the past but now she’s moved on from them.

Which official outlet has said she's in talks to buy us ?

Seemed suspicous that NDA's had apparently been signed but not with her.

The Times amongst others have said that she’s held informal talks with us. This thread is full of such information from multiple respectable sources.

We have two NDA's signed anyway. She's not the only interested party. If any of it is true.

3 ndas if you believe the times, lets see who else reports the Liverpool bid other than the mirror. Still have hope

Edit: I doubt you'd ever get confirmation from club/proposed buyer untill completion.

Preliminary/informal, whichever, not much point in holding any talks with us if she's serious about buying Liverpool.  I mean its two very different levels of investment.

Amanda Stavely apparently holding talks with FSG for a potential Liverpool takeover according to reports...

Leading financier Amanda Staveley has made initial soundings about Liverpool’s availability, according to reports.

The Sunday Mirror say that Staveley, who runs PCP Capital Partners, a fund with global assets of more than £28billion, wants to acquire the Merseyside giants.

The investor was at the 1-1 draw between Newcastle and Liverpool last weekend – although it was reported she was set to meet with Mike Ashley over the potential sale of the Tyneside club.

I thought this from the beginning tbh, wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if that's exactly what happens.

Mirror reporting this story to maybe flush out if she is genuine in being interested in Newcastle or not?

Nothing new really. Im guessing due diligence late in the process? Like the last thing before a bid if they are happy with what they have seen? Clutching

Mike Ashley wants a 'quick sale' of Newcastle and four separate groups are interested - NUFC gossip

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is believed to have reduced his asking price for the club in order to drum up interest

Four separate groups are hoping to purchase Newcastle United before February - and owner Mike Ashley is also aiming for a “quick sale”, according to a report.

The Magpies owner is believed to have reduced his asking price for the club from more than £450million to around £380m in an attempt to attract interest.

Amanda Staveley, a businesswoman whose company PCP Capital Partners oversees a portfolio worth £28billion, held informal talks with club officials at St James’ Park earlier this month following United’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

The Times claims that PCP are one of four interested buyers but, unlike the other three groups, Staveley’s company has not yet signed a non-disclosure agreement with United.

Interestingly, however, it is reported that the three additional consortia have been conducting due diligence at Newcastle - and are attempting to push through a deal before the next Premier League TV rights package is completed in February.

The lucrative TV rights deal is expected to increase in value once again, and therefore the groups hope to complete any purchase before the cost of the club rises.

Though Ashley could demand a higher price for Newcastle once that new TV package is confirmed, it is also claimed that the Sports Direct magnate is also keen to conclude any sale as soon as possible.

It is suggested that Ashley has “conceded that Newcastle’s squad requires strengthening” during the January window, but that the United owner does not want to plough further money into a club he is looking to offload.

Certainly the Magpies are for sale at the right price but whether any prospective takeover occurs between now and February remains to be seen.

If any of the groups looking to buy are serious you'd think they'd want to get it done in time for the January transfer window. A new owner would hopefully want to provide a transfer fund which could go to strengthening the squad to increase our chances of staying in the Premiership. There'd be no point taking over in February or later if there was a chance NUFC could be relegated.
