JH
Like I said last night, if it is made up then we'll see legal action. Llambias wouldn't just let it lie.
jdckelly
Llambias really is a fucking spacker. What kind of chairman speaks like this in public, surely the gonk heard about what happened with Fat Freddy and Douglas Hall.. tbf its nowhere near as bad as that, just some crassly expressed opinions on some individuals you may or may not agree with but nothing outrageous in there
Cajun
I'm assuming the fan who recorded it thought it wouldn't be wise to say anything considering we were doing well on the pitch. He probably also though that any negative press would be a detriment to the team? Chose a good time to release it then, when we are still doing well but the fans have just been pissed off

johnnypd
Can't believe people here are defending the Chairman of a football club behaving like this. It's astonishing isn't it. And let's be honest, the deadly duo don't behave as any football club's hierarchy should,ie with decorum and respect....you only have to witness Ashley in his replica shirt guzzling ale down at Arsenal to see that. It was like a scene from a modern day Trading Places. Classless describes them perfectly. it's not astonishing at all. there's a small but vocal section on this forum who will defend the hierarchy no matter how contorted their logic becomes, or how obvious their blind spots become, or how stupid it makes them look, or how much they put themselves at odds with their own self-interests as fans. i mean, purely hypothetically of course, i bet they'd defend renaming the club's stadium to the sports direct arena. would be an interesting psychological study to see why they're so hell-bent on doing that. i suspect it's got something to do with the sycophant's slimy and pathetic need to associate themselves with those in power, as well as a general desire to paint themselves as standing apart from the rest of society, brave contrarians holding back the barbarian hordes, even when they're nothing of the sort outside this virtual forum. as for Llambias, it's about time his association with nufc ended forever. however, since it's not going to happen, it's probably best to simply ignore him. i'd rather energy was spent supporting the team than getting drawn in to pointless debates and protests against people 99% of fans KNOW are worthless and unprofessional twats. the press are just itching for stories like this to gain momentum and derail our season, and tbf Ashley and Llambias are playing right into their hands by stupidly giving them the kind of material they need. i'm pissed off that ashley and llambias would try to damage the mood around the club like this, but then they've always had a penchant for self-destruction. let's rise above it, ignore the clowns and not get embroiled in these games. He probably also though that any negative press would be a detriment to the team? Chose a good time to release it then, when we are still doing well but the fans have just been p*ssed off I reckon that this might not have even been released (for a certain time anyway) if St. James' had not been renamed. Seemed to be the right time to release it now I guess, what with the good buzz around city pretty much on a decline these past few days and some of the media trying to give Ashley/Llambias as much bad press as possible. Sifu
Actually, having read johnnypd's post above, it could also very well be a media trick trying to find anything to derail our season.
Guest Wally_McFool
Actually, having read johnnypd's post above, it could also very well be a media trick trying to find anything to derail our season. Llambias should come out and defend himself by denying the story if that's the case.
quayside
From what you hear about the man it seems entirely believable that he would come out with this stuff. I don't think Llambias made decisions like the renaming of the stadium etc but the bloke clearly has zero class (good thread title btw). I have said on here before that Ashley would do well to get rid of him. He seems to be crap at every aspect of the job.

I was actually thinking about this this afternoon, I got it down to either, Age (only started following the game for last 2 seasons), attention seeking (negative attention better than none), WUM/Troll, or just plain old ignorant argumentative cunts. Guest bimpy474
Just curious but is Dekka worse than Freddie and Douglas Hall when they called us mugs for buying shirts and called the girls dogs, Dekka at least said his to fans faces and not behind their backs to a hidden camera. All shithouses though.

Cajun
I think some are just so desperate for things to go well (I am a little bit like that) that they will try and see the best in everything, no particular agenda other than a really passionate hoping for the best. You definitely get the contrary sort that just seem to go against popular opinion for the sake of it/because they think they are more intelligent than the majority. Oh yes indeed you do, not sure why people would argue for the sake of it but they are everywhere, and your right it is that feeling of superior intelligence, very good spot that, great way to describe it, i work someone very very like that. I like to look at things from both sides, i've got my opinion which goes along with the majority on here, but i dont think people who agree with Ashley, or like how you put it try to see the best in everything should be roasted for that. ponsaelius
Think I actually find people moaning about the apologists more annoying than the apologists. They're WUMs that are in the tiny minority, just put them on ignore.

Stu
Not a chance in hell that a Newcastle fan has sat on these for a month. More the Journo sat on them until something happened (stadium renaming was fine timing) with club. He says he's had them since Tuesday. How come this video/audio recording hasn't found its way onto t'internet by now? Why does no-one (who was there, or knew the 'student' who was there) seem to have mentioned any of this in the month since? It's all a bit odd...
