huss9
bit too soon for shearer - maybe the likes of hughie gallacher or better still joe harvey - always thought the east stand should have been named after harvey soon after the milburn stand was named. Ronaldo
I'm amazed there isn't one of Keegan, like.

cp40
Council could do some in that bit of leazes park near barrack road. A few statues keegan, robson, harvey, Lambias. would be a great tourist attraction.
Mr. Snrub
I'd go for something along the lines of this.. http://i.imgur.com/FL9TD.jpg ...but maybe with shorts on instead of torn jeans. We don't really need a statue of Cajun tbh.
Nobody
Don't like the concept of statues for people who are still alive tbh.

M4
Would be funny as f*** if the statue depicted a 38-year old, balding, sunburnt Shearer in a grey suit and white shirt with poorly made tie. This statue would put a serious dent in your daily routine. The urge to go there every single day to spit or piss on it would be impossible to resist. M4
Don't think it's possible to hate someone as much as he does Shearer. My hatred of Shola and disappointment in Keegan pales in comparison

I no longer live in Newcastle, so I'd have to resort to phoning in a bi-weekly bomb scare.

Kaizero
We need a Keegan one. I actually said "I'll bet Tooj will complain that Keegan doesn't have one" out loud when I saw you'd posted in the thread. Who did you say that to? I'm just imagining you in a coffee shop or something telling it to random Koreans.

Dave
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/11/15/big-al-set-for-monument-al-tribute-72703-29777330/ EXCITING plans are understood to be in place for the unveiling of an Alan Shearer statue on St James’ Boulevard. The Chronicle can reveal the fitting tribute to Shearer will be in place in time for next summer, when the Olympic football tournament comes to St James’ Park. The development also comes at a time with fans still seething after a name-changing exercise was announced by the club last week. Olympic chiefs have already ruled the stadium must retain its original non-commercialised name for the tournament, and the addition of the Shearer statue in time for the festivities will also add to the feel-good factor as thousands of football fans descend on Gallowgate. A life-size statue of both Shearer and Jackie Milburn is planned with local sculptor Tom Maley thought to be in talks with Newcastle City Council and Nexus, who operate St James’ Metro station behind the Gallowgate End. Maley has previously developed a Wor Jackie statue and the project has gathered support from Newcastle fans who discussed the work at a recent NUFC Fans United meeting. Shearer, of course, netted 206 goals for the Magpies in 10 years at St James’ Park and nudged past Milburn in the club’s top scorer chart.

Some ungrateful little cunt rejected the name Shola last week. And it was just me and the lass in the room at the time, though to claim I was saying it to her would be a lie.
