Parky
Play a defensive screen behind him and play him behind the two forwards. Job done. Pards won't do it cause he'll start hyperventilating if the fullbacks aren't protected if we play narrow. How many assists have the wingers got anyway? 3-4? 4-1-2-1-
Flip
Problem is Pardew is passive and unaware of things. Play three up top like he did with Shola, Best and HBA but this time with a midfield consisting of Cabaye, Cheick and Guthrie and a front-line of Dembas and BenArfa. Demba Ba likes coming from deep so him and Ben Arfa behind Cisse would work magnificently. Problem is, doesnt matter if we have 5 Jonas, we wont be able to support our fullbacks anyways since theyre horrible defensively why not try to use Santon in an offensive manner and let Simpson just stay where he is. No point in falling back all the time as we are not very goo defensively. We need to push forward and play free flowing football with a midfield three who are ocmfortable on the ball. Krul Danny Willy Colly Santony Cheicky Cabay Guthry DemBarfa Demba2 Demba1 Is in my opinion a must against Wolves, should go all out on that shite and badly organized defense they have. Dave
Ben Arfa should start ahead of Obertan and Taylor, I agree. However, talk of binning Pardew is ludicrous.
Mick
There's no evidence of that really, in fact pretty much the opposite. Didn't Ben Arfa have a go about our style of football under Pardew?

Hanshithispantz
Swansea never passed us off the pitch like, we controled the game pretty comfortably. EDIT: According to SKYSports we had a 63% territorial advantage, and made a total of 34 passes less than them

Maybe but they certainly weren't in that game. 57% possession, 17-3 shots, 6-0 shots on target, 9-1 corners. They were the worst and most unambitious side to come to SJP this season, whatever their other exploits are. If we'd played a game like that away from home Pardew would be getting roundly criticised. In saying that they moved the ball around nicely which is what Hatem was refrerring to I guess. [/full backtrack mode]
Mick
Only if you severely twist an interview he did in France. The coach likes to play long and direct. 'Center it into the box,' he's always saying.

Guest hatem garrincha
I think he was speaking about swansea play in general this season, not specifically the game against Newcastle.
ponsaelius
They didn't even pass it round well. We dominated possession for large spells of the game, dominated the territory, had more the chances, had far more attempts and generally just played much better in a more positive manner. Play that game out another 5 times over and we'd probably win all 5. I'd like to see us play better football more consistently and also admire both Swansea's style of football, overall philosophy and ability to get the most out of their resources. Just don't see how that game can be used in any way to represent them as a more positive football side than us. They were more negative and 'anti-football' than anybody to visit SJP this season, complete lack of enterprise and ambition. 'Passed us off the park' ffs. Anderson
I still think we'll revisit the 4-3-3/4-5-1 once everyone's available which should mean HBA playing a much larger role.
