I was 100% sure I wasn't gay until today, but after experiencing that amazing goal at st James' today I would happily let Ben Arfa teach me a lesson

looking forward to hearing the radio commentary of his goal tomorrow. really thought he should have done a somersault when breaking into the box for his goal, just something to try and make it a little less ordinary.

After watching it a few more times on repeat, I don't think enough was made on MOTD of the little flick to get by the final two defenders. Sheer quality, he skins them before they're even there.

"I'm missing something here. The Ben Arfa goals was good, but magnificent? No. The defence was terrible, and he only actually passes 1 player"

Yes, that from a Liverpool fan.

Aye Pardew mentioned it too, a little lift so the defender cant tackle him.

Running at full pelt, and with just enough weight on it to beat the defenders but still leave him enough space in front of the goalkeeper for the finish. Marvellous.

Thought he'd pushed it too far to finish at first and that he was going to shift it to Cissé.

O ye, of little faith.

I took my eye off HBA a number of times because I desperately wanted Cisse to stay onside.

His face when the slide comes in is hilarious like. His whole body seems to stop for a split-second, then he just hits another gear. The most talented player I've ever seen in black and white at St James'.

It was class. You can do that on FIFA, but Hatem does it in real life. :smug:

Just been talking to a mag mate (from Fencehouses, so a proper one  ) about Ben Arfa after he said he would walk into our side.

This is a lad who up until 6 weeks ago couldn't even get into their side. I don't know where he would go in our side either. He has only just started playing, well albeit, for the mags on the right of a front 3, with little responsibility.

Our formation is set around Sessegnon, usually. Our 2 wide men work their arses off up and down the pitch, something which I very much doubt HBA would want to do. Our 2 central midfielders graft and close down, and our striker holds the ball up for Sess.

Unless you would rather Ben Arfa over Sessegnon, I don't see where he would go in our team

It was an unbelievably good goal, for those that haven't seen it but got a smartphone, download the free ESPN Premier League app and you can see the highlights and goals 5mins after the final whistle.

He made the Bolton players look like 8 year olds in a school playground, he had no right to do that in the PL. He ran straight up the middle of the pitch, getting faster, and faster, and faster, past 3 FOUR men, until his last touch which was absolutely inch perfect to put it between him and the keeper for him to poke it past him in his stride.

Edit: Look VERY CLOSELY at his touch to take it between the two central defenders, running at almost FULL SPEED, he clips it up and over the challenge of the advancing centre back, into the the one spot on the whole pitch that was exactly the right distance between him and the keeper where he could knock it past while still in full stride.

What a player. My word.
