He lacks a bit of fitness. We need to push him. “His upper body strength is there – but we’re working on his general fitness.” Still think he will be on the bench Saturday. So do i. The club have no one else to blame but themselves got letting him p*ss off to France and conduct his own rehab/recovery. HBA is a Ferrari. You don't take it to the local Vauxhall garage to get fixed. If he's happy sorting himself out in France, then let him go. If that means he takes one or two games to get back into peak condition then I think we can afford him that. Especially with the Jan investments. Newcastle United are a premier league club and one of the bigger ones at that. ExiledGeordie Posted February 28, 2013 Share Posted February 28, 2013 Bit odd Pardew saying what fantastic shape they'd got him back from Clairefontaine only to now say they're not that impressed with his condition. Pardew really does like to contradict himself too often but hey ho we dont see him train so there's no point taking a risk on him. I'd much rather have him wait as long as needed so he's back to have a proper run in the team at full speed again ready to take on the likes of the Mackems and Pool at home.
