Really need to get a settled back 4 again. That makes it seem like we deserved a point. I'd have felt so hard done by if I was a WBA fan and didn't come away with three points. They were so much better than us. Pardew's management is at this point nothing short of a joke. That bollocks about HBA lacking sharpness was exposed as the complete horseshit I suspected it was too. He just got it tactically wrong, and couldn't 'fess up. Instead he came out with that 'sharpness' shit. Tiote had a 'mare. Colo had his worst game of the season by a country mile (in very similar circumstances to last season's worst game - Bolton (a), where he had Smith and Nolan ahead of him. This time he had a woeful Tiote and Vuckic. Vuckic was great going forward but understandably raw at CM in the Premiership, didn't drop back enough to give the team options on the ball). Santon -6 Fuck knows why he went off Obertan - 5 Fuck all. Tiote 3- Kept losing the ball throughout the night. Almost got us a point towards the end though. Vuckic 7- Had to do the work of four tonight, did well Jonas - 5 Fuck all. Best - 4 Barely noticed him, and when I did, it wasn't pretty. Ba - 9 Two quality goals out of nothing. Though I was naturally delighted when we equalised and fancied a win, it would have been ridiculously harsh on West Brom and when they got the third I could only sigh and accept that it was what they deserved. Defensively we were shocking with tonight being Colo's worst game this season. One thing that annoyed me was inexplicably taking Santon off and putting Raylor on. Puzzling. Overall, poor tactics from Pardew, playing such a high defensive line and persisting with the direct approach. The amount of f***ing hoof-balls was f***ing annoying. There was absolutely no need for that. Vuckic was a positive today so it will be a shame to see him out of the team against Bolton but having Cabaye back is a big plus - it would save us from playing hoofball anyway. Things he did wrong (IMO) High line - While Colo isn't really that slow, Odemwingie is fucking rapid. Totally obscure time to use a high line. Then, to make it even better he whips off the very fast Santon and sticks on Ryan 'Titanic' Taylor. Don't even think Pards really knew what he was doing in the slightest. Ameobi - We started to play well. Then he brought on Ameobi, completely upsetting the balance and leaving Simpson to control the entire right flank. Meanwhile Ameobi ran in circles slowly urinating himself. Also, this was Obertan's first decent game in a long, long while. Best - While I appreciate what he's done this insistence on two-up-top has to stop. It's 2011, 4-4-2 is effectively finished. My ratings Krul - 5 - couldn't do too much. Contribution wasn't great. Santon - 6(?) - Was playing well, bit confusing he was subbed. (Raylor - 4 - fuck off. Hoof rating - 7) Coloccini - 4 - Completely done on pace. Looked a bit off the ball. Unusually bad game from my hero. Perch - 3 - Just awful Simpson - 4 - Got forward a lot, but unfortunately he's shite. Hoof rating - 8. Obertan - 5.5 - Was actually OK. (Ameobi - 4 - fuck off) Tiote - 4 - Gave it away pretty much every time. Vuckic - 7 - Great game, possibly a reactionist rating but I was very impressed. Some shot on him and brilliant overall technique. Jonas - 5 - A bit of everything. A bit careless in possession but worked hard. Ba - 8 - Absolute monster. Perch 4.5 caught out twice and cost us two goals. Colo 5.5 ling tore him apart. Destroyed for pace. Santon 6 I saw no reason to bring him off Obertan 5.5 no point to his existence Tiote 5 poor tonight. Lost the ball too much. Should revoke his shoot outside the box license Vuckic 7 some great moments. Not involved a whole lot but showed his potential.
