The other games today - 2011/12

I thought Chelsea (our main rival) looked very good tonight. They don't have the lungs or consistency to maintain good form over the course of a league season, but they've looked much more solid under Di Ma TT eo. They have difficult fixtures ahead and will be heavily engaged trying to win silverware in the FA Cup/Champions League, so hopefully they drop some tired points.

Beautiful assist from Ozil today (with the outside of his left, and two defenders iirc had recovered to form a last gasp line in the box) against that Cypriot mob. I think those defenders were committed to a goal-side delivery, off Ozil's right, and were most likely looking to hack it away. Outstanding vision & recognition shown by Ozil, to not only spot Benzema's run, but to also read & go in-behind the defensive line with his left .

One of my favourite players tbh, and one that got away from the Turks.

I met him a few days after he signed for Real. I was backpacking in Madrid, and drinking in a small shit irish pub, when Sami Khedira walked in only to be followed by Ozil. An Irish backpacker pointed them out as "spanish pooftas." Approached them both for photographs, eventually got one form Ozil, although he was reluctant to and a right miserable twat.

Aux Armes, ALLLEZ L'OMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited. Going to be a strange old game, 2 teams in such contrasting forms. We scored 5 goals in 8 games, they 22 in the last 5. Hope we play like we did against the last German side.
