The results tend to stay shit just that he's scoring 60% of his teams goals and the football is terribad. We already have 2 centre forwards that seem completely incompatible in a front 2, the last thing we need is another of the same ilk who can only function on his own. We need wingers, or flexible wide forwards, or a centreforward who can play back to goal, plus some new centre halves, plus a new fullback, plus a box-to-box midfielder... long before we need to sign Darren Bent. I can't think of a more absurd signing. As you say just having two strikers who want to do the same thing is causing us problems - imagine adding a third striker to that? If you already have two excellent Right-Backs who can't fit into the same side easily you don't go out and buy a third, slightly less good one, especially when other areas of the side need attention. Guthrie turned down NUFC's contract offer to get games but he isn't getting a game for Reading after rumours of falling out with their manager. As it happens I think he'd have played just about every week for us if he'd stayed what with Cabaye and Tiote never being available at the same time. His move hasn't worked out for him or NUFC.
