NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

Hope this is us finally building a squad and we're not about to lose Dave. :undecided:

I wouldn't have thought so. We have less cover at LB than at CB. We were also trying to buy a LB in the summer (Pieters).

I really hope that's the case. Maybe Mick Lowes was right... :dontknow:

I still think we need a LB, no need to blow the bank but makes sense to be looking.

I could make a case for us needing a player in almost every position.

 well yes but Santon gets injured then LB becomes a real issue.. Priority is striker & CB after that LB should be looked at.

do you re3ally think we should just say "look, until we get a striker in we aren't even going to contemplate anything else squad wise", can we not carry on more than one negotiation at the same time ?

Ask the manager.

I think I'm satisfied in terms of goalkeepers and in the midfield, but the defence and striker situation is stinking:

Debuchy S. Taylor Coloccini Santon > Simpson Williamson Perch R. Taylor

Cisse > Shola > Ranger

:scared:

Pretty much how I see it but would like a wide midfielder-cum-forward too. Will need a GK in the summer too.

Those options above though man, dear me. :anguish:

@mattspiro: Toulouse confirm Moussa Sissoko can leave for €3.5m (contract up in summer). Hasn't lived up to 'new Essien' tag, but that's a real bargain

Please sign him now. We'll make up the money if/when we stay up

Tracked by several clubs, Nicolas Isimat-Mirin, however, should remain in Valenciennes until June. This is what we said Jean-Raymond Legrand on Thursday: "  Unless an exceptional offer, he will not leave this winter and stay with us at least until June.  "

Liverpool, Newcastle, Paris ...

But the president of Valenciennes does not exclude as a transfer: "  We still look at what we offer. Including offers that include a six-month loan. Are discussed with several clubs. I have three English clubs and a French club discussing in this context  , "he says. As Le 10 Sport revealed in recent weeks, Newcastle and Liverpool have targeted the defender of Valenciennes. Interest of PSG was also discussed recently

Well according to Pardew we might not be able to afford a defender because we don't know how much we'll spend on a striker. Sounds about right for a change.

@mattspiro: #NUFC haggling with managerless Nancy over €4m-rated left-back Massadio Haidara (20). Great name, good prospect. Should get him for €3m

Tbh as i said Santon needs some competition but its not really a priority position for this window  :undecided:

Perhaps, but I reckon Parsnip will play Bong at LB, Santon at RB, and Debuchy at CB!!!!

Mark Douglas ‏@MsiDouglas

Now off to Benton to talk Canaries with #nufc boss Alan Pardew. Never mind obscure foreign left-backs, there's a (big) game on Sat...

So, douglas gets to go to the training ground and see the hoof roof, he best not leak the formation/tactics.

Perch can play at left back, as can Simpson.

shola can play up front then ?

Precisely. The sweet, sweet sound of money in the bank.

or just not getting the deals they wanted. when i go shopping for something i need, i'll not pay more than i think i should.

i'm sure if it was just money in the bank we could've sold tiote, cabaye, krul and cisse, last summer for healthy profits,

Haidara for 3m would be an excellent signing, one of the best young players in France without a shadow of a doubt. Sissoko for 3.5m would be great business too. Bong... meh, he's decent, but wouldn't add anything special imo.

Nah, we wanted to maintain Premier League status. For the money.

As it happens the plan isn't going too well.

Is he better than Williamson?

If so, he adds something.
