merlin
Is he a guaranteed starter here? He bloody should be because he offers more than anything we have in a box to box midfielder. However would he be given the pardew bedding in treatment when he will get nailed down starting and probably a better wage with the scum because they are desperate? Fingers crossed if it's between us and them he sees it as the no brainer decision that it is. Sissokho aside it is interesting that the star say we still want one more forward in addition to a defender. For 3/4 players pardew mentioned a cb, cm, remy would make up 3 with aubemayeng the possible fourth? I know we are linked with a couple of LB's but I think we are covered there for now with santon, Anita, Simpson, perch and raylor. Could certainly be better but I think Anita is strong backup for santon if we need him To be honest, I think most footballers doesn't really give a damn if its us or them, IF they offer a better deal I bet he will get that ugly shirt on. Kind of makes me sad how footballers are now. If 2 employers were offering you a job, wouldn't you do the same..?
Unbelievable
OM chairman has stated that Sissoko to them is "complicated" due to the 3 million transfer fee and competition from Monaco and ourselves. http://www.sport24.com/football/transferts/fil-info/om-sissoko-complique-608794

Alberto2005
Remy, sissoko and a colo replacement/colo stays will be a great window.
Ash
Can't be classed as great until we sign a CB IMO.
AyeDubbleYoo
Can't be classed as great until we sign a CB IMO. I would agree. The signings look to be class, and I'm excited about them, but unless we move Williamson down the pecking order we won't have achieved everything we needed. TRon
Can't be classed as great until we sign a CB IMO. Especially with the Colo business. Losing both him and Ba is a massive blow and until they're replaced there's plenty reason to remain cautious. Ba was a proven goalscorer, Remy still has question marks how he'll perform here, and replacing Colo will be a big ask.
joeyt
I know its talksport but don't remember him being linked before Newcastle target Diego Fabbrini can leave Udinese this month - but only on loan. Alan Pardew has watched the attacker in the past and was linked with him last year. Udinese are open to sending the youngster out on loan to help further his development, as he has appeared in just seven Serie A matches so far this season, starting only four. And the club's owner Giampaolo Pozzo says the 22-year-old can depart this month on a short term deal. "He wants to play more regularly, but the coach can only pick 11 players," Pozzo told Il Messaggero Veneto. "If he wants to go and play somewhere else then we'll send him out on loan, but we'll never sell him outright because we believe in him." http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/130114/newcastle-target-set-udinese-exit-189220

Brum apparently could go into admin if they don't push through player sales. Imagine the fee will come down on this one, that's if it was true of our interest. GuyP
Saw the Fabbrini news earlier with respect to him going out on loan. He can be loaned, we need a striker, 2+2=5...I'd be surprised if he ends up out of Italy...

Well that is the other easy link, but i dunno, from the very very little i have seen, i reckon he can do better than the championship...they have sent young development players down there, and whilst Fabbrini is young, he is a little further along the curve than the rest. Just my opinion though, cue him signing for them in the next hour or so!
ponsaelius
They've sent players of the same age and older (Ekstrand, Abdi, Forestieri, Neuton etc) there. It seems the logical move, promising player but he's not really proven anything at Serie A level.
Geordie Ahmed
It could be that even Mike Ashley isn't willing to gamble with the massive TV bonanza for next season. I mean, he has to get some credit for tying up Debuchy and Remy. Credit for making a couple of signings he should have made 6 months ago? Nah, don't think so

He could probably walk into a lower Serie A side and be competitive whereas the others would probably struggle to do that.
Dan Gleebals
Whilst Remy and Sissoko would be amazing, we really really need a centre back or two. Seems very quiet on this front - another midfielder really not a priority for me.
Newcastle Fan
We should really go for Matej Vydra, only 20 and is ripping the Championship apart.

Ketsbaia
A few months ago on FM, I started a Newcastle game where I only bought players we'd been strongly linked with. In came Mbiwa, Sissoko and Tom Ince. The only player to break this? Jones Okore. Suddenly we're being linked to him. True story.

We really need someone who has pace and athleticism at centre back. What's he like as far as those attributes are concerned? He is quite average in those attributes, that you mention, but he makes up for it by having a good football-brain, so he reads the game really good. Furthermore he is really aggressive in his way of playing and he follows trough in every tackles that he makes. In Denmark he is viewed as one of the biggest defender talents since Daniel Agger. The downside is that he is a Chelsea supporter
