Dokko
Got to side with Ian on this one. Shaw had a good season and is pacy as fuck in comparison to Debuchy. Plus it was Debuchy's first time in english football. I think it's harsh to judge any of our January signings fully as they were thrown into a shit situation. Would be better to judge them after this season as they would of had a full pre-season and they gained experience of the final half of last. Hang on, go back a bit and you'll see I said exactly that, if he stays he'll have a much better season next time out, doesn't stop him being awful last season, and still has no pace. He's slower than I thought he'd be that's for sure but not sure he was ever truely match-fit last season. He seemed to have a lot of hamstring injuries before we signed him and then when he arrived I think he missed the odd game or two with knocks. Plus I think once he gets used to the pace of the league and learns who the players are that he's up against he should be able to cope better than he did the end of last year. It could be injuries, or mentally just not ready for the pace of the game here, either way hell be better next time out (as I've said) but I doubt he'll find another couple of gears up in pace which he could have done with. Mole_Toonfan
The best fullback in the league is slow.... or at least no quicker than Debuchy is. Not really bothered about all this tbh we have much bigger issues to be concerned with and considering what we asked Debuchy to do against Rose that day very few fullbacks would have come out on top. We basically used him as a target man There is too much emphasis on pace tbh it doesn't matter all that much, at least it shouldn't if you use the players you have correctly. Shays Given Tim Flowers
I think defending Debuchy in any way by throwing in a 17 year old in his first prem season is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Like me saying I beat my son in an arm wrestling competition. Shaw isn't massively quick, he's average at best and at 17 is miles away from knowing where to be positioned, marking, decisions all that s*** which comes in time, so please, a France international destroyed a 17 year old as a comeback is tragic. Are you serious? Everyone was raving about Shaw last season and how brilliant he was. Are you f***ing serious, or is this just you wanting a 'conversation' ? I'm serious, Shaw had a brilliant season. Didn't he? Shaw did well for his age and experience, to judge a player a decade older with a decade more experience against him is pointless, you just don't have that level of consistency or mental awareness and will always have off days and learning experiences. He destroyed a 17 year old...and? So he f***ing should. But you're talking exclusively about pace? Your Rose example wasn't good anyway, there are a select few players in the league that could beat Rose in a foot race when chasing a ball. Again I mentioned pace then others brought the performances of shaw in to it, not just pace, I just followed up. A 17 year old who's had an excellent season - what's that got to do with pace? Because the conversation was about pace when the Shaw example was brought up. Shaw is documented as being a quick player. You have described him as being average like Debuchy, the same Debuchy that is too slow.
Mole_Toonfan
Debuchy's s*** now? He was fine, I'm not sure what people are expecting of a bloke thrown into a team fighting relegation, who concede possession for long periods and have a midfield who doesn't seem to want to cover. That is an issue the midfield cover is f*cking atrocious, Pardew can start by sorting that out before thinking about anything else.
Interpolic
Debuchy is slow now? He's been slow for about an hour man.
nufc4eva
He's not slow like, maybe struggled to get used to this league but was good with the ball, defensively bit of work to do but I think he will be class next season if he's allowed to be.

The College Dropout
He's nee slower than Simpson like. He does seem weaker though and we are already a brittle team.
Skirge
Oh no not that cunt, of all the fkn agents. Newcastle on Gignac alert ESPN staff July 22, 201 Marseille are prepared to allow reported Newcastle United target Andre-Pierre Gignac to leave the club to ease their wage bill and have contacted Joey Barton's agent to broker a move, Le Parisien reports. Since Margarita Louis-Dreyfus took ownership of OM following the death of her husband, Robert, in 2009, she has been keen to rein in the heavy spending that characterised the tenure of her late spouse. After two difficult top-flight campaigns, Gignac, 27, appeared to have cemented his future at the Stade Velodrome with a return of 18 goals in 39 games in all competitions last season, but his €350,000 monthly salary means club president Vincent Labrune has reportedly taken steps to encourage Premier League clubs to bid for the France international. "I've spoken about Gignac to numerous English clubs," Willie McKay, Barton's representative, told Le Parisien of the forward who top scored in Ligue 1 while at Toulouse during the 2008-09 season. "They're interested in his profile. With his power, he's made for the Premier League." Gignac, who is under contract with OM till 2015, has no intention of leaving the club he supported as a boy, as his agent, Jean-Christophe Cano, made clear. "We've got a lot of time to think together about what comes next," he stated in Le Parisien. "I've not mentioned the slightest offer from abroad for Andre-Pierre, because he simply has not envisaged leaving this summer. Finding a better project that OM's right now is immensely difficult. He's looking forward to enjoying another great season at Marseille." arnonel
Id honestly rather have 3 up and comer, young, hungry, nobodies than gignac , gomis. bent. At least then there is hope, not just the reality that we are stuck in mediocrity at best
Kanj
I'd take Bent and Gomis over Gignac any day of the week tbh.
Mole_Toonfan
I really hope we don't get Gignac i know we are desperate but he's rubbish. How does he and Gomis compare? Gomis is faster, better goal scorer..... Gignac is probably better aerially ( i.e. scoring goals with their head not holding the ball up) there is not a great deal of difference in how they hold up the ball and occupy the back 4. Gomis is a lot more consistent though and i'd much rather have him. I also think Gomis would be more successful in England than Gignac would.
Guest Alexinho
As far as I'm concerned no news is good news... At least JK doesn't own the club or something...Ben Arfa and Cabaye still at the club, the club has not moved to Scottland and the SPL... We want a striker and a left wing - this is NUFC - status quo is good news compared to what could happen...(and already has -> JK)
Ronaldo
If Gignac is rubbish what does that make our players?
Kanj
I guess you could say anyone that pushes Shola further down the pecking order is a good signing
Mole_Toonfan
If Gignac is rubbish what does that make our players? He's better than Shola etc etc but he would be right at the bottom of the list of the rumored targets for me. Gomis and Remy would be preferred targets and Gignac should only be pursued if we miss out on Bent, Remy and Gomis.
Ronaldo
What if we miss out on Bent and Gomis but not Remy? We need 2 forwards.

Depends if Cisse leaves for me.... if he stays i'd be happy with just Remy and a winger. But if he leaves i agree we need two forwards.
