Miercoles
Bloody love Cisse.. Infinitely glad he is staying. Now to get him a partner and a winger that can bring out the best in him. Staying onside would also help The worst part about that is it seems like he's gotten such a reputation for being caught offside that linesmen take all the close decisions against him as well. "Well it's Cisse, he was probably off"
mrmojorisin75
in his defence he might find it easier staying onside if we had other players occupying the opposition's defenders and pulling them about a bit as it is he's always feeding on scraps anyway, plus all the other team need to do is watch him and keep a line while the rest of our team stand and watch

Guest Phil K
Can't believe that there are actually (presumably intelligent) people on here who believe that the casino picture was the game changer. It's incredibly over estimating the importance of fan's perception of a player's religious conviction to the player himself. Cisse's not going to go, "Shat now they've seen my casino picture, Dave and Toon Taylor will know I'm not a good 'Muslim', so I better back down". So he goes from intransigent, agent involved, no movement, refuses to go to Portugal blah blah blah, then a few pics appear of him openly GAMBLING. Die hard muslims aren't supposed to do THAT either, then within 3-4 days its all sorted. And you reckon it's a coincidence.
Dr Venkman
Bit worried these bids for Gomis and Remy mean he's leaving. I'll be really surprised if we go a whole season with 3 competent strikers.

Same here, but if he's leaving then at least we should have a couple of competent strikers here to soften the blow. In any case, the Remy deal is far from done, and there's still every chance it will all go up in smoke.
Mole_Toonfan
At least if he did go we would have Remy, Gouffran and Gomis instead of Shola. We would actually be prepared for that situation for once, but i don't want to speak to soon especially with regards to Remy. Obviously hope Cisse stays and the other lads join, leading to a good strike force for once.

TRon
You don't go up against Mike Ashley at NUFC and come away the victor. You do if you back down and decide 40k a week isn't so bad after all.

All down to coming back from Portugal to sort out this mess. Don't know where we'd be without him.

'He has looked in really good fettle, and he will have half a game, at least, at St Mirren. ‘I am pleased it has all been sorted out, and we will bond round him now and support him. We will try and get the best out of him, because he is an important player for us. ‘It was a taxing situation for him, but he is fine. We are a resilient bunch, in football. You have to bounce back in our world, or you’ll be in trouble. Papiss can play a big role for us this coming season, and I fully expect him to kick on and make a positive contribution. He was a little bit isolated at times last season, on his own up front, but if he can get a relationship going with whoever might be alongside him, I can see him thriving. 4-4-2? Mole_Toonfan
As long as Sissoko and Cabaye is the norm in central midfield, i couldn't care less if he does play 442 tbh. In fact i think it might be a good thing.
AyeDubbleYoo
The weakness is it doesn't suit Ben Arfa, we don't have a LW and we don't have a partner for Cisse yet.

It doesn't but you solve a lot of those issues by having 2 midfielders who contribute offensively, i'd argue that's the biggest issue actually. Apart from the obvious partner for Cisse but its quite obvious Pardew won't go that route until we get one.
