@ChrisPhillips_ don't rule out Llorente, unlikely, but never say never as that annoying little git Bieber sang in his high pitched-voice

:anguish:

He he, so are the mackems going to meet his (reported) release clause figure of £28m, or just rely on the pull of Wearside to get him for their alleged bid of £19m?

Premier League goals at the point of Alan Shearer's retirement:

Alan Shearer:

Sunderland AFC:

Fill it in yourself because I can't remember the exact numbers, but I'm certain Shearer had scored more at his point of retirement.

Alan Shearer - 260

Sunderland - 214

Even if it didn't, you could still use the start of Shearer's career as the timeframe and he'd have more goals than them in the top league.

Were they not out of the league for a significant amount of that time though?

That's their own fault for being shite.

Also Shearer had a few massive injuries.

They were out of that league, therefore they didn't have the opportunity to score Premier League goals.
