Pre 1992 everyone south/east of Gateshead supported and attended Sunderland games (don't let the 20,000ish attendances fool you mag kernts) and then everyone bar a few true loyal mackems post 1992 stopped doing this to become non-attending Newcastle supporters. The girl was on Success Road in the Shiney Row area of Sunderland on Wednesday evening, when she was approached by a man on a bicycle. brummie Posted October 12, 2012 Share Posted October 12, 2012 I went to Northumbria Uni (well, it was Newcastle Poly at the time). My best mate up there was a mackem, from Cleadon. We went over to his parents house a few times. Now, that's a particularly posh area, so I assumed most of Sunderland was relatively pleasant (like Newcastle).
