I went to Northumbria Uni (well, it was Newcastle Poly at the time).

My best mate up there was a mackem, from Cleadon. We went over to his parents house a few times. Now, that's a particularly posh area, so I assumed most of Sunderland was relatively pleasant (like Newcastle). Then we went into the centre, and I rapidly re-evaluated.

This was 1989, though, I would imagine it has improved a lot since then.

Dismissed it in an earlier post, but tbh i haven't been, nor had the inclination to go to Sunderland city centre for years. Unless an NUFC side are playing there, i don't set foot in the city as a rule. The only exception is rarely visiting my wifes' relations in Washington.

John O'Shea.

Just generally, John O'Shea.

To be fair, he's decent. He played very well in the game up here in March and my concern is that he's the sort of physical presence that can rough up and intimidate Cisse. It's one of the reasons I'd start the Sho.
