There's no need to play Perch at home ffs. He's a tackler and (at best) a possession player. Abeid is a decent footballer and there's no reason why we need to be too careful against Villa. Bring Perch on if we need to close the game out, a role in which he's proved to be very useful at.

With that I'd rather go Ben Arfa wide left and Jonas as a CM.

Options in midfield and attack, so selection will be very interesting for this.

Reckon it will definitely be 442, with Ba straight back in to help work back in midfield if necessary.

Can see Cisse being held back until the 2nd half for his first game. If so, we'll see who Pardew's rating most out of Shola and Besty.

With Perch or Taylor holding, who he selects wide right is the most interesting spot for me. With the graft of Taylor, pace of Obertan and flair of Hatem all offering completely different options.

At home and against what looks a pretty good counter-attacking team, I think we'll see a few goals.

3-2, with Cisse banging in the winner!

They'll park the bus. We've got Demba's, we'll win.

On the contrary I think they'll have a go. 8 goals in their last three aways v Chelsea Arsenal and Wolves. We're certainly vulnerable to their pace. Zog Keane Bent etc are all quicker than the core of our defence.

“[Cissé] has a lot to take in on Sunday. Both Demba Ba and he have had long journeys back here and won’t be at the top of their game.

“But fans can expect to see both for at least part of the game. Strikers have to be fresh and we had a tough game at Blackburn, so all my strikers are a bit jaded and I’ll have to see which ones are the freshest.”

The two Demba's haven't had much game time so I see no reason for them being physically unable to play. A flight from Africa is hardly long haul, they should both play based on our last 2 performances.
