Newcastle 1 - 1 Sunderland - 04/03/12 - post-match reaction from page 42

fuck me that is a big pile of shite.

SORT IT OUT PARDEW

Only thing positive is coming from Raylor..which doesnt say much.  we will get more directness and spread the field with Ben Arfa or Obertan but we will leave gaping holes at the back and loose the only service we are providing so far. Mackems look far more potent going forward, if we leave bigger gaps at the back we will be ripped to shreds, they are threatening to do it already. Have zero faith in our defence tbh.

Plus, the atmosphere seems to be utter shite for a derby.

Deflated immediately after the initial few hoof-balls and it became clear we had no intention of playing football today.

Woeful, woeful performance. Absolute joke of a gameplan.

The referee is bottling everything in our our favour. Cattermole should have been sent off, we should have had a dozen random free kicks, possibly a penalty, Sunderland are going down under every challenge and getting free kick every time, also whats with them starting to waste time already?

Mind you, we have been shit, no urgency to get the ball forward, playing into Sunderland's possession etc, I just hope somehow we don't get beaten in this game.

Absolute wank that half!!!!!!!

Why are we making rash challenges all the time? Play some football for crying out loud!! Its constant long balls time after time....our strikers can't do much with that: keep it on the floor

ffs Pardew you better sort that out at HT you fool

Well, good end to the half (and beginning), but it's fucking shit that we come into a home derby with tactics that not only limit the team, but are detrimental to the team. Constantly giving away the ball, gap between midfield and strikers, constantly bypassing midfield, no movement, etc., etc. Hopefully the end of the half was a sign of things to come.

The usual faults. The strikers look isolated. Until the last 10 minutes, the midfield weren't finding one another. Still, there are some signs of improvement.

I'm not sure that 4-4-2 is ultimately the way for us to go. Ba doesn't have the mobility for that secondary striker role. Neither Cabaye nor Tiote get forward enough - we've basically got an anchor man and a playmaker together and that's not ideal.

I really really miss Steven Taylor.

Could never understand the attitude of many of our fans against Steve Taylor.

Williamson is showing just why he's BADLY missed.

Who had that... Taylor was superb before his injury

Taylor getting injured has been our downfall as his replacement simply is not a footballer but a civil servant pretending to be one

Awful first half from us. Yes the commitment is there, but where the hell is the football? Defenders hoofing it forward at every opportunity, the same as they did v Wolves last week. We have good footballers in this team, so what the hell is Pardew playing at with his tactics? O'Shea and Turner are lapping it up at the moment.

Not good enough!

Thanks Williamson you clumsy f***ing plodder, you've been doing it all season.

Don't know what he is thinking. Your slow yes, fouling isnt going to help you.

Fault of Pardew and the club hierarchy for gambling on surviving the season without buying the one January aim we shouted about definately buying but never did.
