matta
Great. I really hope he gets well. And if his heart is okey, and he could back on the pitch. That would be the greatest sensation of my lifetime. Hope he can do it.

Hanshithispantz
Surely not? Fabrice Muamba will be given the all-clear to start training in the next MONTH in the latest amazing stage of his comeback. Bolton’s midfield star has made such astonishing progress since his cardiac arrest three weeks ago that the specialists are poised to give him a date when he can return. Muamba was clinically dead for 78 minutes but he has stunned the medics with the power of his body and now the latest mind-blowing bulletin has been flashed to Wanderers. Muamba’s test results have shown he has a strong heart and all of his other vital organs survivedthe horrifying ordeal intact. The top people at the London Chest Hospital have informed Bolton that Muamba would be ready to start back at work “by the end of the month”. It is hugely uplifting news that has shocked and delighted boss Owen Coyle and his staff – Coyle and chairman Phil Gartside said they wanted Muamba to be fit enough to just kick a ball about with his son Josh. But this latest remarkable news could see Muamba back with his Bolton pals before the season is out. As one amazed source said: “Fabrice has ripped up the medical rule book all the way through here. But this news tops the lot." http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/news/2012/04/08/fabrice-muamba-to-be-cleared-to-start-training-in-the-next-month-102039-23818368/

Ameritoon
Can't believe that's possible. Not sure how a "strong heart" goes into cardiac arrest for 78 minutes.
madras
to be honest i've known people have heart attacks, by pass surgery and be out in 4 or 5 days. it's only really amazing because it's all been in the public eye.

Not really the same though is it? do you really think he was dead for 78mins or he wasn't breathing on his own for that long ? he's lucky he had his problem in his scenrio instead of of in a school or factory when the staff are ore expenendeble hence there being less help on hand. not a major slagging off, you'd expect companies with huge investmets in that area to have the medfial side provided for. It's (as far as I know) unheard of that a top athlete manages to return to his/her sport after a major heart issue. As much as I want to believe he'd one day be back on the pitch at a top level, I can't imagine a club would let him back on the pitch no matter how much he wanted it. Big difference between your average joe doing a normal job after something like this and athletes that have to train and put a strain on their body beyond normality virtually every day.
