Assuming Perch is out, If Guthrie is fit I'd play Tiote CB and a midfield three of Guthrie Cabaye and Jonas then, with Raylor in at LB.

Has Tiote played there before? If he has then fair enough, but coming from outside that just sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Training photos aren't on flickr yet but is the cover photo for the NUFC TV presser from today (anyone who has it)? Colo's there and in a bib.

Simpson could probably do a job at CB for this game - they only play 1 up front and don't have much height in the team - would free Santon to play RB too, although there's a chance Pardew would use Raylor.

Santon Simpson Williamson Raylor

If Perch is out.

Presume you would be using Jonas in midfield? If Pardew decides to keep him LB I quite like the idea of a Cabaye - Tiote - Vuckic middle 3.

Seriously, a few games ago we'd be resigned to losing after seeing Perch in the centre of defence (or anywhere on the pitch for that matter).

Simpson & Perch weren't that bad against Norwich in general play, they just had no ariel command during set pieces. If it is Simpson I wouldn't be too worried, infact I would see it as a slight blessing if it means we get to see Santon down the right for 90 minutes.

EDIT: We'll probably see Raylor down the right with Jonas down the left like

As someone mentioned, probably one game where we might just get away with Simpson as they won't subject us to the same bombardment that Norwich did.

Be more worried about slipped balls down the channels. Especially if Jonas is playing full back as his positional sense is horrific.

Going to have to somewhat rely on cutting midfield supply, don't think we have too much of an answer in our fullbacks to it. Santon is risky in going to far forwards, but has the pace to get back at least.
