You see people being brought back for a yellow card after the advantage has happened.  Shouldn't it be a red card here?

The offence is denying a goal scoring opportunity. The opportunity hasn't been denied so no red card.

Rules might be different for a red.  Fuck knows.

The red card would be for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. If they've scored then that hasn't happened. Could book him for the foul though maybe?

No you wouldn't rather have 2-1 you fucking muppet

Why not? You'd rather have the goal in the bag, Chelsea have already lost a defender - regardless of any possible red card offence. Similar to the Barca - Arsenal champs league final in 06 (?). The ref admitted after that he should have kept it 11 v 11 and allowed the goal to stand.

How many times have lower teams been punched just because of the intent and not actually the offence? No reason why he shouldn't be off for intent.

Doesn't quite work that way, you can give advantage anywhere on the pitch and go back and book or send someone off, but when its the GK and advantage is played it never happens.

Its like an unwritten rule, just very odd.

You would but the red card should still be shown. No reason why it isn't.

Eh?

I'm responding to Townsend's comment that Tottenham fans would rather have a goal rather than a penalty and their opposition down to 10.

was he booked? the goal scoring op may not have been denied, but it is still a foul, and a last man foul at that.
