Real Madrid have agreed a €7M fee for Mathieu Debuchy of Lille, and that’s just €1M more than we offered,Questions have to be asked why didn’t we cough up the money for Mathieu Debuchy.

This transfer window has been so negative for newcastle,No ambition has been shown by ashley,And pardew Is as much in the dark as we all are.

So what are we left with now after such a promising season, Mid table mediocrecy if we are lucky.

That's a car crash of a post.

It's not even a car crash, it's a f***ing jumbo jet crashing into an orphanage of a post.

That's funny.

Seydoux denies Real Madrid bid for Newcastle target Debuchy

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3277/la-liga/2012/08/30/3342378/-?

It was speculated that the Spanish champions had identified Debuchy as the ideal candidate to bolster their defence and were preparing a €12 million [£9.5m] bid, but Seydoux has expressed a desire to retain his services.

"We have not been approached. Anyway, Mathieu really wants to play Champions League with us," the patron told reporters.

Debuchy, who has made over 200 appearances for Lille, was one of the stars of France's Euro 2012 campaign, and had attracted interest from Newcastle earlier in the summer.

Lille were drawn in Group F of the Champions League alongside Bayern Munich, Valencia and BATE Borisov.

I was convinced we will sign him. Now I'm thinking we will get him in January after they are out of the CL and for more of a deal.

yeh but by january we will probably have someone better than debuchy lined up already.

fits in with the pardew quote about players being happy at their clubs

Regardless he was eager to join earlier in the window. That's why you dont leave these things until the last day in the window when its been obvious for a good while we've needed a right back.

Thats assuming we've even considered re bidding for him in the last few days.

you're right i think we left it too late now, injuries or not, this is beyond brinkmanship, this is just plain stupid or the board simply dont rate the lad high enough to be an urgency for our squad.

Lille president Michel Seydoux has rubbished suggestions that Mathieu Debuchy could be set for a deadline day move to Real Madrid.

The France international, who was the subject of bids from Newcastle United and Inter Milan earlier this summer, has stated his desire to leave the club after impressing at Euro 2012.

But nobody met Lille's asking price and they have stood firm over their desire to keep him.

Recent days have seen Real strongly linked, but Seydoux has insisted that Debuchy will be staying with them to play in this season's Champions League.

"We have had no approach from them [Real Madrid], and anyway Mathieu really wants to play for us in the Champions League," Seydoux insisted.

What a farce this turned out to be. Our "model" needs some major surgery.

No it doesn't.

Of course it does. Well, some at least. We're risking a lot by not paying a couple millions extra for the players we want. We should, and we can afford it. Other teams are strenghtening, we're left behind. Now only slightly better, on the whole, with Anita as an option.

The model needs adapting.  New season, different circumstances etc.
