ujpest doza
I'd love Marveaux to start there but i get the feeling Pardew doesn't trust him much, in any case Marveaux or buy someone i really don't care. All i know is the team crying out for the link man between the midfield 2 and striker. Anita had a good game but I think Marv is took weak to play centrally with him. Guest
I think one of the reasons behind signing Anita was we were half expecting/hoping for a big bid to come in for Cabaye last summer and it didn't come.

Cronky
Whilst I don't like to agree with Supermac, he makes a very good point here - http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tiote-out-under-feet-nufc-5780682# I didn't think Anita did anything outstanding yesterday, but it did help that he played a bit further forward than Tiote. We ended up with a better shape in possession. It always annoys me when I see, at that level of football, a midfield player running back to collect the ball from the central defenders, when the CBs ought to be capable of taking the ball forward themselves. Especially when that player isn't that great at passing, like Tiote. I'm sure he prefers to receive the ball in a lot of space, away from the opposition, but it doesn't really achieve much. Yorkie
Didn't see the game yesterday but not surprised to hear he played well. I'd be more than happy with him 'replacing' Cabaye and re-investing the money elsewhere in the squad. Namely on the wing. 4-4-2 is the best option with this manager so he needs a new winger. I'd prefer a right-sided one, with Ben Arfa moving over to the left - but I'd be content with either. Still not arsed about us getting another striker. We've got Cisse, Remy, Gouffran and Shola which isn't an horrendous pile by any stretch. Signing another striker without making an effort to improve the service would be pointless. Dr Venkman
Obvious that he should have had Tiote's spot since Christmas, regardless of stature.

I don't think tiote is even that much taller than him Ok, regardless of, erm, girth. It's been a really common discussion on here and at the match though, even people who are normally in favour of passing football have justified leaving him on the the bench due to him being little. Total bullshit, particularly when the alternative is Tiote.

Interesting you say that, because Andre Ayew who we are linked with for the LW spot is very good at making late runs into the box. Maybe its something that is in Pardew's mind, Tom Ince another winger we have been linked with who is very good at making runs into the box.

We’ve worked a little bit harder on him in the summer and talked about certain things. 'When he brings his game to this team, he can be an asset for us. Mole_Toonfan
Well tbf he's right Anita is no Cabaye replacement even if he is better at the whole getting the ball from CBs and keep things ticking over bit. If Cabaye goes we definitely needs someone to provide Cisse or any one else for that matter with the service they need.

Jordan
I think we looked much better in midfield yesterday because this lad was playing and Tiote wasn't. Tiote is detrimental to the team in the form he's in.

colinmk
Anita will never survive in a Pardew team. One below par game and he'll be dropped, probably will be for the next one even.
