ujpest doza
He's a very lightweight dwarf who gets dominated in every game he plays. Crock of shit and I can't understand the adulation he gets on here.
Greg
He's a very lightweight dwarf who gets dominated in every game he plays. Crock of shit and I can't understand the adulation he gets on here. Because he symbolises everything we aren't, namely short passing and movement. Anita is a decent player but totally unsuited to a Pardew team.
Unbelievable
I have gone on record before he signed saying he wasn't going to be a success, but I'm quite astonished to read so many posts on here saying he's s*** and never played well for us. Are you suffering from collective amnesia? Just to jog some of those brain cells: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,92469.msg4048313.html#msg4048313 (read on from here up until page 145 spanning more than a month) Then again here: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,92469.msg4660459.html#msg4660459 (up to page 205 at least, spanning four months) Simple fact is that he has had good patches and bad patches, has been unfairly dropped at times and what it all boils down to, he just isn't a Pardew player at all, simply because we are not a team trying to play football. Will go on the same scrapheap as the rest of the Pardew rejects, so probably join some CL club for less than we paid for.

Good post, glad you posted the link cos seeing some of the comments about him being poop and never having a good game for us is nonsense Even with Pardew as manager he has had good games and he did well with that run he got in the side last year, though we will never see the best of him under Pardew He is a much better footballer than Colback and I would have him in the side over him every day of the week

Quite clearly has what it takes to be a decent midfielder here, but it's not going to happen if he never plays.

Taylor Swift
He'll have 2 years on his contract come this summer. He won't last longer than the end of next year if Pardew is still here.
Guest firetotheworks
Agreed, I like Vurnon but I don't understand why people rate him so highly. He's a decent passer, no more no less. He gives the ball away far too much and has been learning that pointless fucking pirouette thing from Tiote. He hasn't been given an extended run in the side (Pardew logic) but when he's been given the chance, he seems to struggle with the simple things. If I was him I would leave. ...because whenever we've played him in a three and passed the ball (last season when Cabaye was here) he looked very good. Before that he always looked perky, intelligent, forward thinking and he knows his pass before he gets the ball. In a midfield 2 in a team that doesn't pass it and alongside Jack fucking Colback he's a fish out of water and a waste of time. He represents the redundancy of the way we should be playing in a system that's the opposite, imo.

Because we can see he's class. Why didn't we think our tactics during the 5th season were sustainable? Because they weren't. There's no way to prove these things as such, they just are, and only fuckwits who know nothing about football can't see them.
Skeletor
Always the Jack Bareback lovers who put Anita down with Mackem-esque logic of 'Say it enough and hopefully it will become true.'
sempuki
Would flog both him and the Ivorian nutter if it meant signing a decent central midfielder. Think he needs a new start.
buzza
we just don't play the right flowing football for him to fit in with Pardle's footballing view of the world.
Geordie Ahmed
Predictable that he was going to be dropped Colback has been awful BUT he epitomises what Pardew is about and will always be picked There were actually some people that didn't think Colback would be a guaranteed starter

Decky
Does he just play Anita in tough away games so he has someone to blame? Ridiculous that he is dropped. Someone always have to be the fall guy with that absolute knacker Pardew.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
With Cheick Tiote away to the African cup of Nations and Mehdi Abeid injured (or going to the ACN) I assume Anita will be starting more games in the next month or so. Let's hope he does the business.

Let's hope he does the business. Play like we did for most parts in 1st half against Burnley and he'll excel imo. Twice the footballer compared to Tioté. I've always rated Anita, just been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Yes he has looked bad lately but no wonder his confidence and match fitness is f***ed up. Tioté slowed our play down so many times even in the first half.
Guest Rent-A-Quote
Nice to see that Big Vurn is still alive, even though he got typically shafted by Pardiola by not playing in ages then going away to Man U on boxing day doing loads of running. Ingloriously dropped the next game of course. As said he's a player who has to play in a midfield three. Like all our players scouted by Carr he's probably played 4-3-3 since the age of 9 and then gets Pardewed into a 6-3-1 with most players out of position. No wonder some don't cope. Players like Moussa, Cabaye, Debuchy showed tremendous grit and determination to play decently despite Pardew's tactics and team selections. Vurn has so much more technical ability than Tiote and Colback, it's just does he have the character to fight for his place under a new boss and show that he can step up? I hope he can, and we play a 4-3-3 under our new yes man.

And that's despite not playing anywhere near the amount of games as Tiote. Just shows how good Anita could be with a solid run of games in a 4-3-3. Guest Recoba
Tiote was totally shire today but for better or worse (worse every time) he did not hide. Anita is a better footballer than Tiote but he is a coward.
Andymc1
Astonishingly s**** today. I know there has been some pretty awful individual performances over the last few years but Anitas effort today was up there with the very worst. He didn't even resemble a footballer, just waddled around with his big fat arse sticking out. When he did touch it he generally gave it away.
ponsaelius
Absolutely up there, agreed. Ball literally bounced away from him every time he tried to control it, constantly beaten to the ball, useless of course in physical battles and couldn't pick a teammate out to save his life.
