Europa League mentioned as reason for NUFC's loss of form. Look at Pardew's European squads, please. Injuries, yes, Europe, no.

Slowly starting to happen...

I'm really starting to doubt that Pardew actually know's what the issues are with the team.

I think that ship sailed a while back mate, he had his chance to progress the football over the summer and did fuck all, it was clear to see within four matches that he wasn't addressing the issues. Funnily enough I fancy him to have a go with the 4-3-3 with Ba wide over the next few weeks, if it doesn't work though I think he'll hide further in his shell and we'll get more and more defensive if we fall into a relegation fight.

We are already in a relegation fight, especially looking at the fixtures up until the new year

Aye, hard to get optimistic after looking at our fixtures until the new year. I think 6 points from those games is optimistic

Just been tweeting that LeazesTerrace. Struggling to agree with what he's saying, that we need to be tighter defensively and more compact in midfield to stop shipping goals.

I think we need another player in the middle since we're just about the only side in the league that plays 2 there but the last thing we need IMO is more focus on defensive shape, solidity more people protecting the back 4.

Our problem is that we don't attack. Cliche-arama but it really is the most important form of defence. If we can't keep the ball in the opposition's half, then it's going to be constant pressure at our end. Yesterday was the best example of it so far.

Well keeping possession would help as well, we're not even doing the basics right at the moment.

Our problem is everything really. Can't defend, can't attack, can't string two passes together. It's baffling.

I think we defend okay when the back five has got a bit of protection, instead of relentless pressure thanks to us not retaining possession.

Yeah, even the old keep it tight at the back from last season has deserted us.  Last clean sheet in the league was 2 months ago.

You see all these managers wax lyrical about Alex Ferguson, but they seemingyl pay no real attention to what he actually does, or try to emulate him.

This guy always plays two attacking full backs, two attacking widemen, has no defensive midfielder, regularly forces three strikers into his team, and still whips everyone.

How about you try at least some of these ideas sometime? How about not being so gutless? How about not worrying about being tight defensively all the bloody time.

Negative B.S. sick of it.

All of last season, even at the team's very best, I never felt they were defensively sound or solid. We just seemed to manage to hang on most of the time imo.

These clowns obsessed with being defensive all the time really annoy me.

To be fair, most other managers don't have the luxury of having the best players in the world in their squads.

When you have limited players, it's easier to play limited football.
