Interpolic
Pardew's made me wish we never qualified for Europe. If the football wasn't hopeless, tedious and negative enough, he's completely turned what should be a real positive into a massive negative. This whole season is just shite, football was fairly fun again for 3 seasons and now I'm back to my default "ah well, I'll watch it if I must" attitude. I haven't even been to a game this season actually, going to Fulham which I'm looking forward to because I enjoy away games and it's been too long, however I doubt that the match will give me a great deal to be proud of. JH
Philippe Auclair @PhilippeAuclair Europa League mentioned as reason for NUFC's loss of form. Look at Pardew's European squads, please. Injuries, yes, Europe, no. Slowly starting to happen...

Dr Venkman
I'm really starting to doubt that Pardew actually know's what the issues are with the team. I think that ship sailed a while back mate, he had his chance to progress the football over the summer and did fuck all, it was clear to see within four matches that he wasn't addressing the issues. Funnily enough I fancy him to have a go with the 4-3-3 with Ba wide over the next few weeks, if it doesn't work though I think he'll hide further in his shell and we'll get more and more defensive if we fall into a relegation fight. I think 6 points from those games is optimistic
ponsaelius
Just been tweeting that LeazesTerrace. Struggling to agree with what he's saying, that we need to be tighter defensively and more compact in midfield to stop shipping goals. I think we need another player in the middle since we're just about the only side in the league that plays 2 there but the last thing we need IMO is more focus on defensive shape, solidity more people protecting the back 4. Mole_Toonfan
Our problem is being overrun in midfield, controlling games and creating chances for Ba and Cisse more than defending. How many saves did the Southampton GK make?
Yorkie
Our problem is that we don't attack. Cliche-arama but it really is the most important form of defence. If we can't keep the ball in the opposition's half, then it's going to be constant pressure at our end. Yesterday was the best example of it so far. Hanshithispantz
I think we just need Coloccini back tbh (and Taylor preferably). It's obviously not going to solve all of our problems but we were at least competitive in this league before he decided to stamp on Suarez.
oldtype
Our problem is everything really. Can't defend, can't attack, can't string two passes together. It's baffling.

Well keeping possession would help as well, we're not even doing the basics right at the moment.

I think we defend okay when the back five has got a bit of protection, instead of relentless pressure thanks to us not retaining possession.

Yeah, even the old keep it tight at the back from last season has deserted us. Last clean sheet in the league was 2 months ago.
