Mick
did you have cabaye in your startin 11 today ? he's looked f***ed for the last few games. That's not an answer to his question.
midds
He's ultimately responsible for results and performances and they've both been fucking dreadful for months now. The odd last minute winner here or there has papered over loads of poor, mis-jointed performances. We've looked awful since September and it's not getting any better at all. Pardew carries the can as manager. He's responsible. He can come up with excuses, he can blame his players but at the end of the day he's the manager and he stands or falls by what his team produce and it's largely been utter, utter dogshit. JH
The way some go on, this football coaching lark ain't that hard. Pick 11 players, stick them on the pitch, reap the rewards. This ain't Football Manager you know - a manager actually has an influence on a game.

Darth Crooks
Finishing in a remotely respectable position with a half decent away record would have shown that this season wasn't a fluke. This season has exposed him completely.
Elliottman
They say a Derby game can make or break a manager, well they're right. For me, he has to go.
littlelunchbox
It's bizarre how he doesn't seem to have picked up on the current trend of pressing high up the pitch. Barcelona and Spain have made it massively popular in the last few years, now everyone's doing it. Apart from us. We only press when they get within thirty yards of our goal, so while we're getting pressed and subsequently resort to the long ball over and over again, the opposition regularly get deep into our half before we look interested. He's so far behind the times, it's scary. it would be suicidal to press up the pitch with the way our team is instructed to play. You play a long ball whilst holding a high line and then lose the ball which we will, we're f***ed. That is asking to be countered to death. teams that have confidence in keeping the ball, or teams that are attacking in waves being on the front foot uses the high line. Not even Pardew is that stupid. Every team we play put our defenders under pressure when they have the ball, including the mackems. i know im actually all for the pushing up and keeping a high line. But you cant do it under this coach. These players are way too conditioned in their ways now, you train for two years under this man in his twisted logic of what his idea of football is. Which is filth, defensive, turgid, long ball, p*ss poor excuse of a counter attacking team. Then one day you play the mackems and you tell them right, we going to go and get them! How do you expect them to transverse? They only know one way that they are comfortable in playing now. When and if we ever get a new manager, he is going to have to put this team through some serious rehabilitation process if we ever want to see a team capable of a passing game. Aye, people say "he picked a decent team" as if that's all he does, as if all Alex Ferguson's done for 25 years is write a teamsheet out then bugger off home until an hour before the next game. Exactly. That outburst stems from a Tweet I've just seen calling fans fickle and that 'no one was complaining when the team was announced' - that'll be because the game hasn't started yet love
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
It's crazy how active and animated DiCanio appears in comparison to the stoic Pardew standing right next to him in the opposite dug out. It looks like DiCanio is coaching throughout. Hard to tell if this was just a show, or if he really was recognising and acting upon tactical flaws he saw. He did that thing at one point where he holds 2 fingers up and then moves one in front of the other. And people say he doesn't do tactics...

Pardew was very animated when we beat fulham, which impressed a few on here, even when his belly fell out.
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Like I said, could have all been a show, but that could have been what his players wanted/needed in that situation.
